Faceplate Labels
Benoit, What I ordered was adhesive backed so you won't need to soak in water and you won't have to paste two pieces together. Kinko's prints off of a roll of vinyl. So the Width should not be an issue. Regarding holes.... If you were accurate with your design (it should match the dimensions of the ...

Faceplate suggestion
After seeing a thread about this on another forum I just built this amp and used labels created by Kinkos. http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4854 I'm very pleased with the results. It's white foil printing on black vinyl. Though I don't have a rear photo shown I also did a rear "sticker" as...

Re: Miniwreck aka Lite Rail
Steve, I must say thanks again for being so open with your layout and schematic. I really love it. It's an affordable build for the diyer. Everyone who's played the amp is quite impressed with the tone and volume it achieves at such low power. Now we just need to figure out how to keep all of the th...

Re: Miniwreck aka Lite Rail
Thanks for the compliments. I found Steve Liberty's schematic here: http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1574&highlight= Using it and the photos of his amp I was able to make mine. See link above. I changed a couple of the values from his original schematic. Also, I found the SE hum to be a bi...

Sound Clip
Went to visit a friend and Bass/Guitar maker Kevin Brubaker today with the Miniwreck aka Lite Rail. There was another player there who let me record him shreddin' on my amp (since I'm not a lead player at ALL.) Anyways, enjoy the clip. Details: Amp: Lite Rail Guitar: Brubaker HFRSL Custom² ( www.bru...

Regarding: Bedroom levels
I played it through a Jensen P8R (8" alnico - 25W) this morning. Perfect size bedroom level practicing. Then with several distortion pedals and a Holy Grail reverb I was able to get lots of tone at really quiet levels. I'll be putting it through a 2-12 tonight in a medium sized club. I'll let you kn...

Miniwreck aka Lite Rail
Just finished building a Miniwreck for my nephew. Wow! I absolutely love the tone. Will try to post clips in the next couple of days. I'm not much of a guitar player, but a friend of mine is gigging tonight so I'm gonna take it up before the gig and record him showing off some of his chops. Thought ...

Ordering from Toneslut
I built Marybeth with trannys from Moose, but the trannys were ordered by the owner of the amp. [And she sings too] Anyways, I don't know the process. Do I just make a Paypal payment to the "order" email address? I sent an email on 2/11. I just wanted to verify that he had them available before send...

Transformer Availability?
Can someone suggest a source for Transformers? I've PM'd Moose both here and through his website and gotten no reply. Moose? I'd prefer not to pay shipping from Ceriatone. Mojotone's website shows them as being out of stock. Alternate Transformer suggestions would also be welcome. Please Help. FWIW:...

Double Boards
I was just perusing the photos of #124 today for the Nth time, and I'm curious... What's the story with the double boards. In all the threads I've read (and I've spent hours and hours lurking in here and over on the other TW side) no one's ever mentioned the fact that most of the boards are double s...

Diamond Plate
Yeah, it's vinyl. But it's textured and it's as easy to work with as tolex.
I got the idea from Paul Ruby here: http://paulamps.com/WreckedSteelDetails.html
Got the vinyl here:
http://www.yourautotrim.com/bldiplto.html
Very reasonably priced.
Thanks for the comments.

Trimmers or Switches
I used the switches and they work just fine. If you go with trimmers you'd need to either stick a small screwdriver into the holes from the outside of the chassis to adjust them or else rig up some kind of shaft/knob to access them from the outside the chassis. For gigging I wanted simple. True Bypa...

Effects Loop
Structo, Just got done playing around with the loop. It's definitely pretty quiet, and fairly transparent as well. I put a distortion pedal in the loop for kicks, one that I have used frequently, and that I am familiar with how it sounds when it's engaged. The loop did not appear to add any more noi...
