Just goes to show you....sometimes it's the simplest of things.....

New Express build very low volume
Hey all, I just finished an express build and all SEEMS fine except that it has low output volume. There is basically no overdrive to it also. I have triple checked all component values and wiring and it all looks correct. I have swapped all tubes and it's always the same output level. All the contr...

Re: TW chassis
last time I spoke with RJ he was not accepting paypal as payment...he would only take money orders. I have had my recent builds done by a local amp guy here in MAINE called Synaptic Amplification. He has a reverb store where you can get any size chassis you want made from him. He uses thick 2mm alum...

True Bypass a Whammy 1 pedal?
Has anyone ever looked into true bypass modding an original digitech whammy 1 pedal? There are pictures of the internals of one online (do a yahoo search) but I can't see all the important areas clearly. It looks as if you need to add a few resistors and an R/C filter on the stompswitch, among a few...

Re: Pedal Mule 30 - Prototype build
hey everyone...sorry I took so long to get back..... So I think the hum and loud popping is the power at my apartment. I have a practice space in town that I brought this to and it doesn't hum AT ALL there. The pop at shut down is quite normal (small) too. So I "think" I have those issues solved. a...

Re: Pedal Mule 30 - Prototype build
resurrecting this old thread! So I have built one of these and I am having a few issues.... 1 is it hums quite loudly, It also has a pretty loud "POP" when I turn it off. UPDATE: i tried the amp in a different location and it was noticeably quieter….like dead silent quieter! must be my poor power si...

Re: Rocket / Build
hey joboo
do you have pics or a layout for the kt66 rocket you built?
curious that’s all. sounds like a fun variant.

Re: Trainwreck Rocket blowing mains fuse...
changed the fuse holder to the ‘high quality’ style one that amplified parts sells. So far so good. i have powered up the amp 8x and no issues yet. i’m going to power it on/off several times this week before giving it back to the owner to be safe. weird that i haven’t seen much out there for this is...

Re: Trainwreck Rocket blowing mains fuse...

Re: Trainwreck Rocket blowing mains fuse...
littlewyan I agree. i think there is a small lightning show inside the fuse holder at power up. i think it damaged the contacts inside and now it just arcs. after a bunch of power ups it causes a bad connection and blows the fuse. i’ll let everyone here know if this truly IS the case. weird though h...

Re: Trainwreck Rocket blowing mains fuse...
i usually go by the ceriatone layout with the exception that I don’t do the 1/2 power / full power thing that is shown. for filter caps i usually use 3x 30uf and 3x 22uf in the cap ‘block’ i use the F&T brand that I get from amplified parts. i swapped tubes first….still blew fuses so i ‘fixed’ the f...

I’ve been reading this in many forums….any amp using a gz34 rec tube should not need to use a standby switch…..wish I knew this before because i would just build all rockets with no standby switch anymore! funny….this is the only rocket I’ve built with this issue.

Trainwreck Rocket blowing mains fuse...
Hey all I have a Rocket clone I made that has been fine for about a month of playing. It started blowing the mains (2A slo) fuse all of a sudden. Here are the things I have done so far to remedy: Check voltages, it looks fine everywhere as far I can see visually look at components for problems...not...
