I managed to cram it together last night but liked your idea of moving the switch and mounting on the top with no exposed wires. Only thing I did different was to cheat and just use double back tape to mount it.
Thanks!

Re: Tangent alert: Sanity check on adding DMM display to a variac?
I have a Powerstat 3PN116B and bought a PZEM-061 Opened it up to wire in the meter and noticed the fuse is on the primary side of the transformer not the secondary like Sluckey's diagram. All else looks the same. I got this second hand and the switch has been replaced as well as some internal wiring...

Re: Friedman Butterslax with popping noises in effects loop
I think most Strymon and most TC pedals have selectable buffered or true bypass.
My experience with the Metro type loops is that they all pop with true bypass pedals. No pop with buffered bypass.

Re: Brown Princeton
Finally I put a resistor from wiper to ground on the volume pot, and boom, there it was. Old thread I know, but... Can you tell me about this? I have a new bastard 6G2 build that is AWESOME until I hit 10 on the volume pot. I have a big grid resistor on the PI. Sounds to me like blocking distortion...

Re: Mesa problem
I would clean all jacks then fire it up and do a voltage check. Re-check once the volume comes up and compare.
Good luck!

Re: Where do we buy tubes now?
I buy mostly from CE and have been mostly happy. They ship quick but shipping seems to be getting more and more expensive. Another tech I know has started filling to shopping carts - one from CE and one from Amplified Parts - and comparing the total. CE's wholesale pricing isn't that much better and...

Re: Replacement PT for 5D6-A Bassman
Thanks Jelle. That's exactly what I'm finding too. The 8087 is only 3A on the 5v winding and is too small for the cutout in the chassis. The chassis cutout is 3.0" x 3.75" like a Twin. I think the 8087 was used in the 5F6-A with a smaller cutout and a single rectifier. Jelle, I've been emailing with...

Replacement PT for 5D6-A Bassman
I've got a 5D6-A Tweed Bassman that has had a very poorly done PT replacement. The replacement is too small for the cut out in the chassis and only one 5u4 was wired up as I suspect the transformer had a hard time with the current demands of 2 x 5u4 rectifiers. I've been digging around the 'net and ...

Re: Standel S-80
Finally finished. Fired up first time, sort of..... Had to tweak the bias supply to get the outputs moving. After some tinkering ended up making the bias adjustable. The 2 6DQ6B tubes I had were WAY mismatched. Scrounged up a few more and was able to find a pair that were within 5mA. Sounds great! W...
