Re: Can I use 6v6's in a 69 Super Reverb ?
will I need to mod the bias supply and, if so can I still get enough range to be able to return to 6L6 when wanted ? Also what If I connected a 8ohms load ? The SR sets the bias voltage to -52V. The DR sets the bias to -35V. If your bias pot can swing as low as -35V you're OK. Otherwise, a simple m...

Re: Can I use 6v6's in a 69 Super Reverb ?
Don't forget you need 10x power to double volume, which also means you need 1/10th power to half the volume. I don't think the power reduction will make much difference in volume. Both setups would be loud when pushed. BUt with more sag ( different rectifier ) and two speakers disconected, would I ...

Would that not result in a 4ohms load ? Or am I refering to something different here ?martin manning wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 9:56 pm JJ 6V6S could probably take the voltage. Need to disconnect two of the four speakers to increase the load to 8k.

Can I use 6v6's in a 69 Super Reverb ?
Wondering if I could run 6v6's in a 69 Drip edge super reverb that was reverted form AB568 to AB763
ANd if, so, would there be a significant difference in volume/ headroom. I am assuming I would be getting breakup at lower volume ???

Fender question
Does anyone know ehn Fender started putting all the pots on PCBs ?
I may be interested in a 1990 DEluxe reverb RI but its in another town and the guy doesn'T want to open it.
Would this have the pot mounted to the chassis on on a PCB ?
Thanks!

In the amp I want to use, there is a tube buffered loop in that position.

Installing a "power amp in"
If I want to add a "power amp in" 1/4 inch jack on a tube amp and want to be able to use an A/B switch to toggle between the internal preamp and the external one I would plug in that input, how would this need to be executed ?
Thank you!
