Re: Sourcing Head/Combo Cabs?

I haven’t actually gotten a cab yet. Been on the road most of the summer/fall so it hasn’t been a priority.

Might reach out to TRM, thanks Glenn!

Re: #124 Build Videos

I’d take this with a grain of salt as there is at least 5 years between the 2 but I remember the actual Dumble being very fast, immediate and loud. I don’t remember the settings or even the particulars of the amp other than I’m fairly certain it was an ODS head. I have noticed with mine the master v...

#124 Build Videos

Thought I'd share this here - I've made a couple of videos about my recently completed #124 build. The first follows the process from beginning to end (20k foot view, not super detailed but gives you a good feel for the processs) and the latest is a live stream with Q&A and lots of playing with diff...

Re: Sourcing Head/Combo Cabs?

Thanks everyone! I’ll reach out to Sourmash. I’ve got a cab they build me some time ago and the experience was smooth.

Sourcing Head/Combo Cabs?

Just finished up my #124 and I am need of a cab. Undecided on a head or 1x12 combo currently. I got the chassis/boards from Taylor at AN and at the time they were offering cabs so that was my long term plan. By the time I was able to pull the trigger it wasn’t something they offered any longer. Unfo...

Re: #124 Build Started! (Progress and Questions)

It lives!! Went through the start up process today. No smoke or issues thankfully. Huge thanks to everyone here. Initial impressions are great and I’m really impressed by the variety of tones. Lots of different ways to go about shaping things. I did originally change the cap across the master to a 4...

Re: #124 Build Started! (Progress and Questions)

Thanks Martin!

I almost ran the green wire that way but didn’t…

Noted on the red/yellow reroute and the separate bolt on the earth ground. With those in mind, where is the best place for the orange (internal shield) wire now?

Re: #124 Build Started! (Progress and Questions)

Lots of progress here! Nearing the end and learning a ton. My process has been work until I don’t know what to do and then read a bunch here to try to understand and sense of it. The last steps are wiring up the PT, wiring the filaments, and doing all my last checks. My questions are about the PT an...

Re: #124 Build Started! (Progress and Questions)

Following Funk’s build process so far though it’s been slow going. Got a few hours in last night finally. There are still a few things loose but it’s moving forward! Questions: On the half power switch: The chassis I have doesn’t have spot for a half power switch. I know a lot of folks think they ar...

#124 Build Started! (Progress and Questions)

After months of research and prep/parts ordering I’ve finally started the build process! I’ve built a couple of kits as well as numerous mods on those and other amps but this is by far the most difficult of anything I’ve done. I’ve learned a ton already but still have a lot of questions. I’ll use th...

Re: #124 Power Transformer?

I just ordered the OT from mojo and am leaning towards the Hammond for the PT. I got a quote from Pacific for a 4/8/16 OT and it was a 5 week lead time priced just over $190. The Mojo (Heyboer) seem to be well loved here as well and will be delivered next week. Generally I’m not looking for stiff an...

#124 Power Transformer?

I’m about to purchase transformers for my up coming #124 build. I’m seeing PT’s that are said to be for Twin’s but have pretty different spec’ed voltages so I’m wondering what’s best? https://reverb.com/item/56131932-pacific-transformer-fender-showman-dual-reverb-power-transformer-2022?utm_source=re...

Relays with a 12v Transformer?

First post here on TAG…I’m gathering parts (and understanding) for an upcoming #124 build. I’ve built a couple of kits (5e3 and 18 watt Plexi with 6v6’s) but have never done something of this complexity. I’m also using it as a big learning experience and an opportunity to dig deeper on understanding...
