Re: Octal Tweed Princeton
Any time I see "octal tweed Princeton" I feel I need to feel like I'm wanted. I am the second owner of a wide panel with a block of plate, and the info on the Internet says its the rarest of them all. I'm not positive on this, I have researched it for years .. All I did was rebuild the power supply....

Re: 2x12 Speaker cabinet for JM sig and plexi
My wonderland overdrive has a 2x12 vertical cab with an oval back. Both built by amp nation. It's definitely different from a closed back or my twin combo. And the distance from the wall makes a difference. I can actually "tube" the midrange response with the distance from the wall. I am also highl...

Re: Resistors for the rest of us
Is there any place to buy xicon without having to order 1000 of them?

Re: Amp Chassis Cradle
I use the slucky one.
I'm about to build a second one. I may make a few refinements, but overall it works well.

Re: Resistors for the rest of us
I'm gonna get some of these and try them on the plates of my marshall after I try the PR0 resistors.martin manning wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 3:34 pm If you prefer CF, there is this series from KOA Speer: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/KO ... CrjQ%3D%3D

Re: Resistors for the rest of us
I can't seem to find any info on these. Do you have a link? https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/vishay-beyschlag-draloric-bc-components/PR02000201503JR500/596118 I'm sure mouser has them too. The picture shows them brown but they have more of that piher carbon film color. Remember, these are...

Re: Resistors for the rest of us
The Vishay Drailect PRO series are good. The two watt have to "size of older 1/2 watt stuff. They have a nice look. I am going to be using them throughout my marshall build.
Just be aware, damn near everything is between 2.5 to 2.75 length end to end.

Re: Are carbon films worth the trouble?
I've decided what I'm going to do. I plan on measuring out the metro board with shorter lead spacing , send the DIYLC file to Hoffman and have an updated board built that will take modern parts. If I'm not mistaken metal film and carbon film resistors are approximately the same size, so I'll be able...

Re: Are carbon films worth the trouble?
I'll tell you one thing. A few places in my board are gonna end up with carbon comp, just because I can't find anything with long enough leads to stretch the darn turrets. I am not too thrilled about the metal film with longer leads soldered on. But what I will most likely do is build it with added ...

Re: Are carbon films worth the trouble?
Wow! Been a few days since I checked my thread. I'll have to find some time to read through it all. Thanks for all the info AND opinions. I'm an open minded fellow. I consider everyone's input. If anyone cares, I decided to go with two watt Vishay Drailect PR0 resistors through our. I read where the...

Re: Ceramic disc NP0 source
I checked. Most of the values come up in small capacitance. I found two by kemet.
At the lowered 200volt spec I find quite a few more.
I found all the values I wanted at 1kv, but they were at a different temp c.

Ceramic disc NP0 source
Anybody know where to get ceramic disc NP0 caps in 1kv rating? I'm getting bright caps and all the small values for my marshall. Do I even need 1kv? Only reason I see the need is for added stability. I can only find NP0 temp coefficient at 200 volts. But those are supposed to be extremely stable in ...
