Re: Adding a Slope Control
Greg, now it works, great sound! what mods have you done? I started with Kelly '90 and did the following mods: 1. Removed the 25W resistor on the power supply board & replaced it with a 10H choke. 2. Removed the stranded, shielded wire going from the input to V1 and replaced it with solid core shie...

Re: That great "woody" tone ...
Thanks for the compliment Glen. Coming from some one who owns a real TW, I REALLY appreciate the kudos! By the way, you are 100% correct with respect to the bright switch - just checked the other one I'm building and I guess I DO have mine wired backwards with respect to the original layout  ....

Re: That great "woody" tone ...

The TW is the simple(DRAWING ONLY - the mojo is in the details!!! ) and elegant solution... Yes, it is best to make ...

Re: That great "woody" tone ...
I just tried it again by right clicking on the attachment and doing a "Save Target As" then it wants to create a file called "woody_solo_769.txt" , at which point I changed the extension to MP3 then it worked ...

Re: That great "woody" tone ...
Right click on the attachment, select Save Target As ...then the file should download. On my machine it saved it as woody_solo769.txt - then just change the extension to MP3. I would have posted a wav but I don't have a converter and this site won't allow posting of a MP3

That great "woody" tone ...
Just finished up a build for a client. Although I don't have any pictures here today, I just thought I'd share a brief sound check clip I made prior to delivery. The controls were set as follows: Volume = FULL Treble = 12 Mid = 12 Bass = 10 Presence = 10 Bright = UP Guitar was a LP, 20ft. cable and ...

Re: Adding a Slope Control
Roberto, I guess that's what I get for reading this stuff and responding so early in the morning  Doing what you suggested & what I presently do is the only way to really zero in on voicing the amp quickly without soldering/desoldering. I have a varible configuration in the PI (tail resistor),...

Re: Adding a Slope Control
...have I to patent this idea? :D Patent a potentiometer in series with a fixed resistor to vary the slope value? This trick is used extensively throughout the test & measurement world. When a part (usually a resistor) changes too far from its nominal value, a potentiometer is in series to bring th...
