Re: Eminence Delta 12A in 1965 Fender DRRI?

IMO an AC 30 might be the one for the tone. I have an old one from 60's with a GZ34 and it has way more clean output than my 6G3 Deluxe. Also the tone is rich and chimes with a pair of G12H. 65 deluxe is a little different than a 6G3 but not a lot. They always feel underpowered. The AC30 feels more ...

Restored 63 Vibroverb

I just completed the cabinet for my original 63 vibroverb and wanted to post a picture. Jammed with it on sunday and works pretty well. Although they were brown tolex, I decided to do blonde based on urban myth. The amp was located without a cabinet and had no output transformer plus power transform...

Re: please recommend a good alternative to "Tolex Glue"

Just got done with a cab and used Hyde glue with a double boiler pan. It was a bit of learning curve but if your in a warm room, it works really well. Main thing is to have your plan together for your cut and tuck around corners and such. I followed and old amp I had to match to the style done on my...

Looks mighty good. I'll bet it sounds great. I need a pair of alnico Jensens for my Fender. How do you like those?

Re: Tolexing Amp and Cabinet Corners

Just did a fender homebuilt cab with hyde glue and followed the fender corners on a fender amp I have. The next day my brother use a mallet and did a light pound and it sets the cut and looks great. The Marshall cab you show looks really good. I'm still learning and cussing from time to time.

Re: Finger Joint Jig

Thanks for the compliments. We joined 3-1x4 so this is not 1 piece of clear pine. It does look good and I thought about just staining but I have read stories (urban legend ) of a few blond 63 vibroverbs. So the blond vinyl came in and I have hide glue to apply. I've never used hide glue but will rea...

Re: Finger Joint Jig

So here is the router corners and the amp mounted. Look nice. I've been waiting a long time to get here. I ordered vinyl and hardware. i'm thinking about the baffle thickness. On my 6G3 deluxe, the thickness is 5/16" plywood with a second layer on the edges so it becomes a 5/8" total thickness.
