I'm having trouble sourcing the 2k linear presence pots that we use in these amps. Where are you guys getting them.

Re: Lance Keltner on Longhorn Amps
I set the FET trimmer pretty low. I do it by ear so I don't know exactly but it is somewhere about 1/3rd of the way up. It's not just for acoustics, you need to play with it some more.

Re: Lance Keltner on Longhorn Amps
Bluesfendermanblues-- Are you using the FET circuit in your builds? I know a lot of people leave it out, but single coil Pickups really benefit from it.

Re: Lance Keltner on Longhorn Amps
The cathode follower driver on the power tubes is kind of stolen from the SSS however mine is capacitor coupled rather than DC coupled, it keeps the power tubes from dragging down the phase inverter.

Lance Keltner on Longhorn Amps
Heres a clip by Lance Keltner on my 'El Vaquero' amp which is pretty much a low plate skyline circuit with a CF driver on the power tubes. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11754470

Visit from boldaslove6789
I had the pleasure of receiving a visit from Greg (boldaslove6789) yesterday. He came by to check out my Longhorn Amps. Greg's a great player and nice guy! It's nice to be able to put a face with the posts you read in a forum. I hope to meet some more of you guys at the New York Amp Show in a couple...

My amps are just loosely based on Dumbles, but count me in if that counts.

covers for unused Octal holes
Somewhere I saw that someone had aluminum plates that could be used to cover the extra holes in a 100 watt chassis when building a 50 watt amp.
Anybody know who sells these?

Re: Are all current production tubes mediocre?
I got a few sets of Winged C 6L6GC-WC's to try. The first set I tried drifted so far after about 20 hours of use that I wouldn't even call them a matched pair anymore. Was this a fluke or has anyone else noticed this

Re: pcb soldering temp
So Aleksander, you prefer using a lower temp but longer heat time? At 600 degrees it was taking about 10 seconds to get the solder to flow.
