Long time no see - just my two cents

Hi you all Wreck-breathing good people. I just popped in to drop a clip or two about my 2006 Express build (as seen in clips) that I've used on gigs and recordings. I've even played a wedding band gig without a glitch. The setup: TW Express clone with a different lead dress than the original, added ...

Re: Cabs

Seems like it, I'm afraid. I hope you guys don't bash me because of the logo - the guy did it without asking and I just thought: "Well, I know this is NOT a TW and it will NEVER be a TW - and I sure as hell will tell everybody this is a homage to Ken Fischer, - and still just a humble clone".

Re: Cabs

This almost makes me weep - you guys produce cab after cab of fine art. Me, I just had a head cab made. It's sycamore if you wonder what it is.

Re: Liverpool treble cap and potentiometer value

Just for reference: Tung Sol 12AX7's and Svetlana (SED) EL34's - and Eminence Legend V12A for speakers. I'm satisfied (maybe because I don't know any better :) ) This works for Express so well I don't want to change anything now. NOS tubes can maybe be found from old geezers in radio repair shops an...

Re: Liverpool treble cap and potentiometer value

Try different tubes. It makes all the difference in the world. Then, kick those Celestion Vintage 30's to hell - find less raspy loudspeakers. Bottom end in TW is not pronounced and the sound is middle and upper middle accentuated. That alone tells you you should pick your tubes (Philips and Telefun...

Re: Liverpool critical voltages

Hi Bluetone,
no clue but some things are best left unanswered... :D
but seriously, it is overrated; I'll check it with a knowledgeable friend and get back to you a.s.a.p.
BTW, you should inject some clips to your net site. Eyes don't listen :D

Re: Liverpool critical voltages

Welcome, Mr. Bluetone. Was wondering when you should enter :-)
It seems there are a few TW clones in Finland and you're making a few more :-)
Cheers!

Humbucker, a proud owner of two Express clones.

At last

Great to see a Wreck go to someone like Brad Paisley. He's a great player and - what I've heard - quite an amp aficionado. Could be worse, right? :)

Re: ANY LOVE FOR CELESTION G12T-75's?

Ditto.

If you just happen to have access to Celestion G12M-70's you could give them a try. Loved them in a Marshall 4104 (50 W MV combo 2x12).

Re: How loud is a 6V6 Express through 2 Greenbacks?

Definitely EL34's! 6V6's might sound great with an amp with some headroom. I tried Jim Kelley FACS in the late '70's (if I remember correctly) and loved the dirt sound.
