PUSH PULL POTS

I am rebuilding a Fender Bassman into an ODS and would like to use some push pull swithing pots to conserve front panel space and maximise functionality. I am having trouble finding 1MEG audio pots with DPDT switches. CE dist has some but they have pcb terminals instead of solder lugs. I'd rather ha...

Re: Bassman build voltages...

Are the filter capacitors as old as the diodes? If so It could be that their value has gone way down and they are acting like much smaller value caps.
In that case you would have widely fluctuating dc that your meter might be reading as a lower value of DC.

Time to check those caps.

Re: Preferred relays? Relay power circuit?

Bob-I I have just the thing for you. I have had a lot of help from folks in designing a footswitching scheem to allow for boost, overdrive, and fx loop switching at the pedal with leds at the pedal and on the panel. It also allows for switches on the panel. With the plug in, the panel switches are i...

Re: Bassman build voltages...

THat math adds up. 330 vac should only net you around 380~390vdc when loaded by the circuit.

Just use it as is and see how you like the sound.

How does it sound or have you built anything past the power supply yet??

Effects loops for my ODS

I wanted to do something a little different for my ODS build in the effects loop department. I am building in a Bassman chassis and I have this extra tube in there. I have always wanted an effects loop so I thought that would be a great use of the tube. It is probably herasy to discuss on this board...

Re: Should I screen ALL signal wiring ?

Where do you usually buy your coax? Mouser has it of course but who needs 100ft? If I use 2 or 3 feet per amp that would last me 30 amps. If I built all the amps I ever even wanted to build 1 dumble 1 18watt marshall 1 jtm45 1 trainwreck 1 fender/marshall 50 watt 1 november Well you see my delimma. ...

Switching voltage?

I see that most amps are set up to use a separate 12vdc power supply to acvtivate the switching relay. Has anyone tried using 5vdc relays with a power supply taken from the heater winding?

Does anyone have the schematic from the '60s amp that was up there, or the HTML file with the description of the '90s ODS?
These?

WOW, you guys set the bar high!!!!!

Whos trim pots are you guys using?
And Glasman, how are you mounting those relays to the eyelet board? They look so neat and orderly. Now I know what my amp needs to look like!
