It happened when the took the breathing tube out after surgery. I coughed so violently I popped the capillaries! Doesn't hurt. Just scary looking for a couple weeks.... I have heard the same thing has happened to people who throw up violently too! Must remember to tell them to push some morphine bef...

From last Saturday in ICU. Doing much better now, at home. Eyes still red though!

Soreness on deep breaths, flu like symptoms such as fever and chills, short of breath...... Really, it is just liek the flu since in my case a virus caused it. If you feel the soreness on deep breaths, then a chest Xray is indicated. Could be Pneaumonia. In my case, it was Pericarditis. Look up acut...

Cardiologist just gave 100% fine diagnosis regarding no effect on heart at all. That is always the concern with pericarditis. Other than a persistant low grade fever (99.4 now), all is ok. Oh, other than my scary vampire eyes (also both black and blue). Coughed so violently when they took the breath...
