Re: I had to do it.
Back when I was playing steady, we never had a sound man, but we never played more than 300 seat indoor gigs. I would mix as well as possible dry, and then send the guitar player out front when the place started filling. We would tweak the board as necessary, and record all of the settings, next dat...

Re: Help pricing NOS tubes.
Kregg, thanks for the help, I'll offer him a hundred, and see I he'll accept. He's 86 years old, and probably was into hobby electronics,(radio and TV), before most of us were born. Thanks again, Bill

Help pricing NOS tubes.
I recently worked on a customers vehicle, and we started talking about tube amplifiers, and he told me he had some tubes, so I gave him a list for my Twin project. He brought me 2 12AT7 short black plate RCA, 1 12AX7A short grey plate RCA, 1 12AX7A long grey plate Sylvania, 1 12AX7 long grey plate R...

Re: unsticking the sticky stuff
I'm in the auto repair business, and vehicles use a lot of silicone sealer. They all will disolve with solvents, but slowly. When I need to clean something delicate, I use a razor blade thats been sprayed with carb cleaner, (the cleaner will also eat plastic). Good Luck.

Still looking for a Champ 25 PT.
Thought I'd check once again to see if someone knows the whereabouts of a working PT for a Champ 25. The pt. # is 003-0945-000, I believe the Champ 25SE, pt. # 003-9043-000 will also work. Thanks for looking in your spare parts bin, Bill Moore.

It has the 4 6L6 output tubes.
I notice on the AB763 circuit, they only use 6 of the 9 pin tubes. It would be nice to maybe have an effects loop or??????????.

Need ideas for Twin Amp chassis!
I recently picked up a Twin Amp chassis,(less the pcb). It has output trans., choke, and reverb trans. All tube sockets are mounted to chassis,(12 in all), and the rectifier board is there. Do I convert to to AB763, and plug the unused tube sockets, or do something neat and add more controls. It loo...

Re: gretsch 6162
I just finished a restoration of my old Airline amp that I bought used in 1968. I carried it all over the pacific, and our equipment storage area got wet from time to time. The closest schematic I could find to it is a Gretsch Mod. G6152, which of course was also made by Valco. I fixed the electroni...

Still looking for PT
So far I have had no luck locating a pt for my Champ 25. I work in the auto repair business, and sometimes used is the only way to fix an older vehicle. Wouldn't it be great if there was a guitar amplifier junk yard? I'm still looking.

Need PT for Fender Champ 25
Does anybody have a source for a Champ 25 power transformer? It's a little odd in that it has the usual tube voltage taps, but it also has a 38 volt center tap for the solid state section.
