Re: Next up, grill cover
I found out on my first attempt at piping that the baffle has to be set in a little further.

Re: Make large rectangle holes in 1.6mm steel chassis?
I had to open a chassis for a larger transformer a while back, so I took it to our local machine shop. I drew out the lines to cut, and they milled it out. I drilled the mounting holes after I got the chassis back, and it wasn't much money!

Re: Favourite speaker boxes?
I am a fan of the EV TL cabs, and EVM12 speakers. Back in the day, I took the TL806Q design, and cut it in half, using the cabs for our PA mids with EVM12S speakers. After downsizing the PA, I found that they make great guitar cabs after bringing one to a pedal steel player when he blew his Black Wi...

Re: Threaded Screw repair
I recently discovered another fastener option, I disassembled a display from behind my grocery store for a shelf. They have serrated coarse threads into the wood, and machine threads internally. The majority in the display were 1/4 x 20, (so far I haven't found a use, but I kept them!) 20200410_1000...

Re: my first cabinet build
My first build had a wavy grill cloth pattern that annoyed me, my friend told me to pull the grill, and straighten the lines. I realized that the staples come out just as easy as they go in! Now I spend a lot of time pulling staples, and re tensioning the cloth. (Yeah sometimes after I think it's fi...

Re: twin reverb chassis mounts
I have a Silverface UL chassis that has slotted holes. Centering the hole would be 1.5" from the top edge of the chassis.

Re: wiring 8 and 4 ohm tap
I did the switching jack for 4, and 8 ohm options on my DR build. The shorting jack in the "main", and with a plug in the "aux" jack it switches to 4 ohm. If necessary to run a 4 ohm load with one speaker, just plug a dummy plug in to switch impedance. I figure, I'm more likely to use 2 8 ohm speake...

Re: EVM12L break in - bass response??
Back in the day, I built an all EV PA system with 18" sub, 2-12L mids, and an HR 90 horn on each side, We no longer use them, but I have used the 2-12 to play pedal steel through, and it sounds great! Last year we had a problem with my wife's bass rig, and I connected the cab to her bass head, (foun...

Re: Simple Q: Do 1x12 Cabs Typically Match Head Dimensions?
I am not knowledgeable of the ODS designs, but I plan to separate my "Twin" clone, (it just gets heavier every time I pick it up). I plan on the head being the same width as the combo cab, but intend making the cab wider to accommodate the "piggyback" head hardware.

Geeze, your cabs are beautiful, but I would be afraid to take one out of my house! Do you actually transport, and use these beautiful cabs in a band? Seems even with road cases for transport, they would get dinged!

Valve Jr. Cab
A while back, a friend sent me a Valve Junior head, and a Mercury Magnetics upgrade kit. (Said he had no free time, and thought it might keep me out of the saloons!) The project came out all right, although I need to play with the bias, I built a cab as close a match as I could get. It's just biscui...

Re: size of internal frame in TL 806
I marked the sheet when I built some back in the day, maybe it'll help?
As I recall, the frame parts not marked are 1"X 3", (actually 3/4" x 2.5"
