Interested to see what you think of the transformers. I used the Onetics and had no regrets at all despite the cost.
Kinda have to build one to appreciate how good this amp is.......

Re: Express re-wiring
I've been down this road along with others. Different people having differing opinions and experiences. I have an express which I rewired during my "quest for tone". Originally it was solid core PVC and it still is solid core PVC. Is there a difference? Maybe, but it is not obvious if there is one. ...

RJ,
That is a cool build. Definitely a bit different from tube rolling.

Re: Home built amp shutting down with loud hum after 10 minutes
The HO is a cool little amp. It was my first build. I did run separate grounds for preamp side and power. I also used the elevated heaters. I have had an amp do something like this and it turned out to be filament wiring that had a poor solder joint and it would come in and out once it had warmed up...

Thought that was what it was.

Re: Liverpool No Middle
The Rocket does have a middle, its just fixed.
Measure the resitance on the middle pot and replace it with a resistor.
You can probably move the bass pot along to the now free spot while your at it.

Re: Liverpool No Middle
Do you mean you don't use the middle at all or do not adjust it.
The rocket uses a resistor instead of a middle pot. You might want to look at that.

Re: Express Values pots and Presence controls in a Liverpool
RJ,
I seem to remember noting this from a post from Allynmey where he mentioned using the Express setup. Can't find that now though.
My last Liverpool build used the Express setup and I was happier with it over the DC free setup.

Re: Express squeals when touching the OT
Cool.....always interesting to see a different layout. That also makes it more difficult to comment. If it's only squealing under the specific circumstance, it's probable not a phase issue and the OT primaries are probably correct. It does look like your negative feedback back to the imp selector go...

Kind of late on this one but this should clear things up for JP. Especially since he has the pots done.....
This was from a Rocket build and I used the wood for the front plate.

Re: Been a while....
They are similar, the board services all but the last two nodes which are ran parallel from the previous node off the PS board. Lots of filtering up to that point.
The board supports elevated and DC heaters too.
