Re: Starting to populate the chassis....
I second what Ian said. In order to build any tube amp, its imperative to know the fundamentals of tube amp technology. Thevenin etc. While I applaud your desire to build an amp of this complexity, without having a grasp of the basic fundamentals, its like building a car without tires, and asking wh...

Re: F*cking clients
Me: I should not have let you leave with your amp. This is where you screwed yourself. Learn, move on. We have all learned this lesson..... In terms of going forward, here is what i suggest; tell him to send the amp back in, if the repair you did actually failed, you will fix it. If its a new...

Be careful with this here, the resistor will short once the conformal coating gives out. I would move it away from the nut. jelle

Re: Question on the #124 builds???
Yea, simply use 20uF caps for each preamp node. My guess was that the dual 10uF cap was available, and Dumble used it. It works, but a single 20uF works and is what one would normally see. Other amps had dual 40uF for clean and OD. Maybe that's what he had available that day. 20uF works well. have f...

Re: First D-style (102) build opinions solicited & build thread:
The 100W ODS documented here (102, 124, and 183) all use 4k7 and 390 from the 4 ohm tap. A 50W adaptation would reduce the 4k7 to 3k3, or move the FB source the to the 8 ohm tap. Either way you will get the same level of NFB as the 100W. The resistor change results from using the calculation I post...
