Re: Taming amp gain in single channel deluxe reverb build

Out of curiosity, what does the amp sound like with the master on 10? Mine sounds terrible. Regardless of whether i implement this or not, I would like to have a somewhat usable amp through the volume sweep. I mostly played the amp with the MV on 10, but the volume pot was down below 5. I only play...

Re: Taming amp gain in single channel deluxe reverb build

I just installed a 100K master volume pot in my single channel DR. Lets you control how much signal is sent to the PI. Works fine for me. Take a look...

No, Rob is correct. 1.9Vrms = 1.414 x 1.9 = 2.69Vpeak = 2 x 2.69 = 5.38Vpeak to peak

Re: Impedence Selector Circuit Help

The NFB wire to the board will always be connected to the yellow OT wire. When using KT66s you need to change R31 to 100K (see schematic).

Re: Starting to populate the chassis....

You seem to be reading the color code wrong on those blue 5 band resistors. There are numerous places where you used a wrong value. I suggest using an ohm meter to verify the value of every blue 5 band resistor in this amp. Replace with correct values. The attached pic shows an example. There are mo...

Re: Starting to populate the chassis....

You installed 470,000Ω screen resistors instead of 470Ω. Gotta correct that before the amp will make any joyful sounds.

The white wire is a CT for the high voltage winding. There is no CT on the filament winding because there was no CT on the original Fender 125P7D PT filament winding.

Re: Hurrah, a new transformer.

The blue wire is the bias tap. Check to be sure you get resistance readings from the blue to each red and also the white to confirm.

That should happen because the filaments are connected in series.

Re: Testing power supply before completion

I usually check the power supply operation before installing the board. That includes plugging in all tubes to be sure all filaments light up. Don't forget to drain those filter caps! Even better, permanently install a 220K 3W resistor across the first filter cap to always drain whenever the amp is ...

It's Weber's WZ34, a solid state plugin replacement for a GZ34.
