Shocking
I have a Budda SD45 that's 240 volt. I use a 120v to 240v transformer and it works great, but before hooking up my hd500x effects box I started wondering if the 120 volt Hd500x and the 240 volt Budda will be compatible. Seems like there will be either a 120 or a 360 volt potential difference on the ...

120v to 240v step up
Any downside to using a 120 v to 240 v step up transformer to run a 240 volt Budda in the U.S.? I don't feel like taking apart a brand new amp and messing around if I can just plug and play.

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
I once cut the presence wire off at the speaker jack, without removing any of the other presence circuitry. Nothing changed. I remember, once, using a jumper wire, with alligator ends, and connected from the 2nd or 3rd preamp 100k load resistor to the phase inverter, and it cleaned up. I'll have to ...

Re: I'm thinking about buying a modeling pedalboard.
I bought a Line 6 hd500X, but got bored long before I figured out how to use it. In the 3 hours or so that I played with it, I got some pretty good sounds if I used the effects in moderation. If you go that route, I'll sell it for $250. I really prefer a Champ style amp with
only 2 knobs.

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
Yes, It has a shared 150-ohm cathode resistor with a cap across it. Also have 2 -50-ohm resistors going to ground ( chassis ), for the heater reference, before the 1st el84, then the other el84, then to the preamp tubes. I used a basic Plexi presence circuit, and at 1 time I cut the lead off of the ...

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
It's hooked to many working cabinets, over the years. This has frustrated me for years. Eventually, I get tired of searching for the problem and put it back upstairs. Shame, because at 3/4 volume and up, It's a great sounding amp.

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
This is a picture of an actual Komet, not my amp. Just trying to show how they have a coiled wire doing something. Maybe they are shielding that shared plate voltage node, if so, I didn't do that. will try wrapping a few turns around that are tonight and see if it helps..

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
Everything looks good. The only thing that I can think of, along the lines of what everyone is saying, Is that coiled wire that Komet shows, in their gut shots. Looks like it goes around the gradual/fast switch and the associated components. That 1st and 2nd preamp stage use a common 300 volt power ...

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
I'll check it all again, this weekend. Built this amp years ago and got pissed every time that I rechecked everything, only to find no problems. Could it be the presence values? I am using a 50 watt preamp { Komet } and an 18 watt power amp. I kinda cobbled them together. I may have some weird value...

fuzz on clean notes.
My 18 watt build uses a Komet preamp and a 2-el84 trainwreck power amp. The amp has a pretty killer distortion, but turning down the guitar volume, or amp volume produces a thin, brittle sounding amp with a weird distortion that rides on each note and kills the sustain almost instantly. Happens at a...

Sano
My Sano is an el34 powered amp with a 15 inch Utah speaker. I don't foresee playing anything else, for awhile. Love it. I can't find a schematic either. Lots of Sano schematics, just not mine.

Re: Changing phase
Thanks for the replies. I will give both channels a try as soon as that mono to stereo cord arrives. This one has a 1/4 inch stereo input instead of the earlier Sano's with the 4 pin connector. Playing through the guitar input, last night it sounded very good for about half an hour. Then the sound t...

Think I found something
I found a Radial Big Shot aby box that has a true bypass output and a reversed phase out put (transformer coupled ) that can be used simultaneously. All I need now is a 1/4 dual mono to stereo cord, which Musicians Friend sells, and I should be ready to go. I'm thinking that I can run a different od...

Changing phase
I bought an old Sano "stereo" tube amp with a stereo input. It splits the signal into 2 volume controls and a separate tube circuit for each. Kind of like an old Marshall. I have a mono to stereo guitar cord ordered from China and hoped to experiment by blending the channels, however, I read on anot...
