Re: New Komet?

Hi kometlover, I don't have to pm you on this one. chimeboss bears a striking resemblance to another ex member called rocket. chimeboss has the odd fascination of wanting to police every post that ever involved the mere mention of a komet. he also likes to come back and edit/delete his posts when he...

Re: Trainwreck .mpeg's in the files section

Guys,
I had some of the same issues listed here. I found that the VLC media player worked good. Download here:

Re: **New Clip**

Hey LeftyStrat,
It's a AA964 circuit with the split load PI. The only deviation I did was to add a mid tone control. I used iron from a 1960's mono block which had a couple nice GE black plate 6V6GT's in it. Thanks for the compliments!

Re: **New Clip**

LOL  Elcabong..I understand, but rest assured the Princeton and the TW clone are real and "live" in the clip. We thought it would be fun to be able to hear the differences in the context of the clip. Buschman, I copied that very Princeton for a clone of my own and let me tell you, it is one of ...

Re: **New Clip**

OK....I see some people are missing the joke here so I will explain a bit more about the clip before the bashing gets out of control. In the files section there is a clip of Dave Funk playing a real express. The quality of this clip is absolutely dreadful in a funny kind of way (nothing against Dave...

**New Clip**

Here is a new clip that my buddy Kevin recently laid down. It is unique in the fact that our old hero Dave Funk makes a guest appearance on the second lead break. The first lead is Kevin playing a Fender Princeton wide open, the second lead is Dave Funk on a real wreck and the third lead break is Ke...

Re: i Need help im my first layout

Alex.... From the komet .zip file, "The following text comes right from Ampage and the twreck forum... The split load is part of the second stage after the tone stack. The basics are Marshall style first stage (.68/2.7k) tone stack typical trainwreck values (100k slope, 500p treble cap, .02 for mid ...

Re: My first Trainwreck clone

Dana, First, welcome to the forum! Your build looks really good, a very genuine looking clone. I hang out over at 18watt alot and have built that amp recently. It's a nice little amp but then again it's nothing like a wreck :). The wreck was designed to be mostly a lead amp so it does have a more tr...

Re: New Komet

Good point Jackie. If KF offered any parts, books etc. I would definitely get in line to be a buyer. My take on the whole picture thing is that some individuals like to perpetuate riddles and mystery when it comes to trainwrecks. I have seen some posts here and elsewhere that were downright laughabl...

Re: New Komet

Hi All, Just to join the fray, I am the guy who provided the Komet pictures. I have yet to hear of anybody selling knock off clones based on those pics. Have you Rocket ? The pictures provide an insight to a beautifully constructed amp. Having said that, I wouldn't pay $3700 bucks for one. As...

Heebgb,
The amp looks nice! :D I have a mullard in the first preamp socket and it sounds great. I've tried all the other brands and the mullard wins hands down!

Re: Great source for custom chasiss

Hi guys, The power supply in Allynmey's build is from a layout I drew up in Visio and posted earlier this year. The caps dobbhill asked about are available from Mouser, they look alot like flash caps. The power supply works great in my A1, however you have to have a large chassis to be able to use i...
