Re: Tolex glue
I tried the water based stuff and found that it pulled up at edges. Maybe there's a technique to it. I now stick with Gel formula DAP and do it outside.

Re: Turn 5E3 clone into a Deluxe Reverb?
OP -- is that Hammond a clone for the 5e3? Iirc, those are not interleaved, but a Deluxe Reverb OT is interleaved. Either you have the wrong OT for a tweed deluxe or the wrong one for a DR.

Current 6L6GC ?
For an modern Supro running cathode bias or fixed bias at about 450Vdc. Amp will be run into distortion -- not preamp gain.
The last time I bought a lot of tubes, the Tung-Sol parts were decent and no one has complained. I know it's variable from year to year. thanks ahead

Re: 70's Rivera mods?
Not sure about this product, but Paul put EV -12L or Altec 417-8H speakers into these. It makes for a very heavy DR, however, it's part of the Jones.

Re: '63 Blonde Bassman 6G6B
1) I have an associate who has two of these original amps. One is brownface, the other is blackface transitional. It is a pretty great amp. That said, I don't know who uses one all the time beyond Brian Setzer. 2) I have done both the 68K and weber 4-pole pot implementations in a BF type amp. There ...

Re: Paging Andy Fuchs/Associates
There are no...sigh...black spots. I do appreciate when a product has blown a part and you can see it.
I have swapped with good tubes and read off the B+ (505) and stable bias currents (36 to 38mA).
Oh...V1 and V2 are hiding in the front under the green pcb for inputs.

Re: Paging Andy Fuchs/Associates
I bought a Sammi from Greg once. I'm not very active here, but no one from Fuchs has replied, so I would love some help with this amp. The guy has been using the Clean channel only and I'm not sure where to start with the noise on the OD, since the tubes seem to check out. My experience is that I'm ...

Paging Andy Fuchs/Associates
I have a ~2008 100 ODS w/reverb head in. SN 189x, inked on HRM.1 It is very noisy on the OD channel. To be clear, it can't be used live. Clean is just fine: B+ is 505V, and the biases all read between 36 and 38mV, assuming a 1 ohm resistor...green things. I have my own non-HRM modded Fender and it i...

Re: Night Train NT15C1 schematic?
I think it is decent sounding. I'm not in a hurry so I haven't torn it apart yet. Basically, there are two modes -- Bright and Girth. Girth is fair but glitchy tone wise. With Bright chosen, at the junction of C35 and R34, the signal (sine wave) is clean, but has a 60Hz parasite at the junction of R...

Night Train NT15C1 schematic?
This one has three 12ax7's. eight knobs including digital reverb(I guess?) and an effects loop. The speaker and tubes are fine. It sounds like a filter cap has gone bad.

Re: Blues Junior thoughts
I did some BillM mods to one. The tone stack mod is trivial but maybe the best thing to do. I replaced the plate resistors with RN65s. Speaker could undoubtedly be better...no idea what though.

Re: Blackface Fender Showman....Sucks with Pedals
I think it's vital to take the perspective that pedals are designed around specific amps. I don't like TS pedals unless they're flatter in the mids. That you like a ZD is good. I agree with Fender BF amps. I wouldn't recommend it for a guy with a 2203...right? Keep the ZD, look at a Rat and Barber p...
