Re: Hi-Gain SE

I did some test piloting and I'm happy to report that this build has the goods.
It can only improve as fine tuning ensues.

Re: 477v after 5Y3 SF Vibro Champ

Thanks, everyone for responding. Seems there are different schematics with different voltages in books and on the web and I have one that calls for 355v at the 1st node. Today, with an experienced tech, I went over a schematic from Pittman's book that called for 420v and the tech said that the over ...

Re: 477v after 5Y3 SF Vibro Champ

With tubes.
But the circuit has been butchered and I want to bring it back to stock.
I saw that all the B+ measured high and measured 477v at the 1st node.
Figured I should get the PS voltage in line first. ?
Thanks for the reply.

Re: Anyone have a schematic for an MB Simul-Satellite?

The kind folks at MB sent me the pre-amp schematic and attenuating the boost (actually un-attenuating the normal) was as easy as paralleling a 100k resistor to the 22k that's after the V1a cathode cap. I did some small mods to the tone circuit to taste and am very pleased with the results. It's kind...

Anyone have a schematic for an MB Simul-Satellite?

I'm doing some fine tuning on a Satellite head that I'm using as a kind of D-lator/ boost and want to tame or make the boost variable.

Re: GNFB resistor tuning

I have a D'lite head, high plates, skyline stack,(though with 400pf treble cap value) on which I changed the GNFB resistor to 10k carbon comp and it seems to have "opened" the sound some. I was bothered by a bit of constriction or nasal-ness to the sound and this helped. What really dialed in the so...
