Re: 2nd Generation ODS first power up issue! (Resolved)

Hi Tom, I hope you are well! Like you, I try to check each component before installing, but something may have slipped through the net on this occasion. I will check the pots to see if they give me a full sweep. Duble, Thanks for the suggestion. That could explain why the issue only appears when swi...

Re: 2nd Generation ODS first power up issue! (Resolved)

Thanks for the suggestions xtian. I have gone through the preamp and reflowed all the solder joints, hoping that might solve the issue, but it hasn't sorted it out. As far as I can see the grids are referenced to ground. Could it be an internal pot issue, where the wiper is not making secure contact...

2nd Generation ODS first power up issue! (Resolved)

Having just completed my first new build in 5 years ( I've been tweaking my 6 other ODS's in that time), I noticed something unusual on first power up and was hoping that someone might know what is going on and help me find a cure. I should point out first that all voltages are within ball park and ...

Re: Nice 80s video of Robben Ford and Steve Trovatto

Charlie,
That's pretty much how I remember it!

Really good times.......

Rogb,

I'm doing good thanks. I finally finished my 2nd Gen build after 3 years of procrastination! I haven't had the nerve to fire it up yet, but I will post pics and share with results.

All the best to all,

Paul.

Re: Nice 80s video of Robben Ford and Steve Trovatto

Thanks for posting this Charlie! I was at that gig. As were a few other members on this forum, I suspect. Robben did indeed use the college Twin. Before the gig he asked if anyone in the audience had a chorus pedal he could borrow and away they went! I believe that earlier that day he had just been ...

Re: First time #183 Build

MusicMaker, Your build looks good. I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but I would have to say that your mains IEC socket is the wrong one for that application if you are using it to receive the mains. If it is to daisy chain the mains to other gear then please ignore my post! Edit: I've ju...

Re: "Dumble" amp(s) and fuzz pedal(s)?

Sam,

It sounds amazing!! However, I bet with your fingers anything sounds pretty damn good!

I like fuzz pedals into my d'clone, with a strat, but not so much with H/B's.

What kind of volume level are you playing at?

BTW, how does the Couger feel compared to Peter L's amp?

Cheers,

Paul.

Re: D'lite type kits in UK

Hi Pedro,

I had a batch of 16x8x2 chassis made a few years ago and have enough parts to keep me going forever. So if you are interested in my surplus stock, PM me.

Here's one I'm working on ATM.

Cheers,

Paul.

Re: For your Dumble reading pleasure.........

I would rather lose my pinky then these amps
......but, according to the OP, these amps are so good that he doesn't even need his fingers!!!!

(Unless 'pinky' means something entirely different in his part of the world!)

Cheers,

Paul.

Re: Great blues amp - lowplate classic

Hi Bluesfendermanblues,

Clips and pics are always welcome!

Knowing that you like your Deluxe amps, have you tried HAD's variations?
If so, it would be interesting to hear any before and after clips and comments you may have on them.

Best wishes,

Paul.

Re: Dumble? What do you think?

Hi Rob, like everyone else I think it's a clone. Here's why; -The chassis doesn't look correct because I have not seen HAD use that style of chassis mounting nut before. He has, for a long time, used the screw in type for easy replacement. -The chassis doesn't look as though it is made of thick enou...

Re: want 2 Rok JM signature tone board layout

Great layout beasleybodyshop!

Having had a quick look at it I see that all the pots are the same value on the layout. No doubt a copy and paste typo.

Thanks for your hard work.

Cheers,

Paul.
