Re: Any sense in removing V1 local feedback on non HRM?

Ciao Massy.
mi sa che già ci siamo visti in altro forum italiano......
BTW I actually prefer the cleans without feedback.
It's justa a matter of taste.
The OD can be adjusted to suit this bigger sounding clean channel.
Hope to see you in Grosseto .
Ciao

noise issues

One of the most common cause is the use of filament supply (6.3v) for deriving a Dc current for the relays. No chances when you use the same 6.3 v supply both for filament than for relays, to get a quiet amplifier. Always use for relays a dedicated secondary or any other suitable transformer differe...

Re: New Tungsol tubes, problems?

I've had some tung sol 5881 in one of my amps since 6 months.
They performed well and the tone was amazing, but suddenly one of the tube became very noisy.
Browsing in diffreent forums, I've heard that other guys have the same reliability problem with the 5881.

Re: OCD Fulltone

Check freestompboxes.org. Gut shots and hand drawn schematic with an error, but AFAIK quite easy to correct. I haven'seen it in detail BTW. Finally a small hijack on the post. Pls. check my website www.paolomazza.com ( online since at least yesterday!!!!!!) and let me know what you think on the gues...

Re: Ceriatone Overtone Special gut pics

Really a nice build, especially for the money.
Although i would rather prefer a silkscreened chassis like the one made from Funk, that is gorgeous.
For sure a great platform for tweakings and fine tunings of various kind.
Rob, can you comment on the quality of the irons?
thanks

Re: Fuchs Amps

Hi all. I am lucky enough to own a Fuchs amp, some d-clones I made, the zendrive and had in the past other Dumble inspired stompboxes. All of the impressions that I report are my personal point of view and I don't expect that are shared by others. I can say that each one of these things is really a ...

Re: Alexander and me...

Just to clear out my point of view. First of all I don't want to be polemical at all. It's not my nature. I have some 15 amps and at least 6 are dumble inspired, one is a highly tweaked fuchs ods 100, and I have to say that together with a Komet amp these are my preferred ones. So I give my full res...

Re: Alexander and me...

Hi MaX Don't know if the fact that I'm Italian and english is not my mother tongue, can lead to misunderstanding of any kind. BTW, circuitry , to me is just the topology of the circuit itself. I mean a common cathode is worldwide recognized for his general characteristics, so is a follower etc..... ...

Re: Alexander and me...

Hello Groovetubin. I'm not saying that HAD or you or anybody else is not doing a wonderful job when building amps. I'm not even dreaming of comparing myself as an amp builder (that up to date is not my main occupation BTW) to HAD, or to anybody else. I'm just saying that probably in no way in the ma...

Re: Alexander and me...

Probably this is just one more point of view. We are talking about electronic stuff. If somebody can invent some particular solutions or circuitry , he is allowed to patent it and to license such kind of solutions. Think about mr Nelson Pass of Pass Laboratories in Hifi world and his products, and t...

Re: D'LITE OT & PT substitutions

bridge.
it's up to you to decide whether to use a 7805 or simply drop the excess of voltage coming off the bridge ( filtered with some 1000 uf) with a diode string , so to get the 5v dc for the relays.

Re: D'LITE OT & PT substitutions

It's just the original choke of the super 60.
I have not used any additional transformer for the relay supply. Relay supply has been just derived from the 6.3 v winding ( rectified , filtered and a 7805). In those picture BTW is not shown the additional small PCB for this stuff.
