Re: Trainwreck faceplates
You can PM me. We have been talking about doing another run in the coming weeks. When ready we will post in the for sale section. The run will be limited to around 20 faceplates and in all likely hood be the final faceplate run we can offer. If you have any desire to have a faceplate when we do the ...

Stock up pay to have them tested (not good bad but really tested) and be set regardless of the future outcome.

Re: PCB Repair
A television repair shop or home stereo repair center would be your best bet. Probably $45-65 hourly rate. Probably take an hour to diagnose. Not sure about sourcing parts???
Could probably get a board at a pick a part junk yard for $5

Re: PCB Repair
What are having repaired? More than half the time the manufacture is the best bet or certified service tech for the product because they don't repair as often as replace boards.

Re: Guitar "samples" for testing purposes
It's completely possible. Here is how... 1.) do setup on guitars new strings, intonation, tune, etc. You will want at least a stratocaster type single coil guitar and a Les paul type humbucker guitar. 2.) Meter all cords and cables for shorts and low ohm load. 0.01 ohms or less 3.) recording softwar...

Re: Guitar "samples" for testing purposes
Don't forget strings, pickups, electronics. Something I see a lot is musicians plug in like an amp then switch guitars and say its not "this or that". But they seldom actually turn the knobs to rebalance the amp for that instrument. First you need to know how the EQ circuit works were is it bypassed...

Re: Guitar "samples" for testing purposes
You might google "reamping guitar" for a very long list of considerations and even some suggestions that are cheapish. It's complicated, sort of. Reamp device won't work on its own he would still need to record the tracks and then export them, adjust volume etc. The problem with this particular req...

Re: Essential components to recreate the EXPRESS sound....
Honestly I'm not a Wreck kind of player to me the tone is dated and best serves blues and lite rock. Same with dumble. I own them only because of studio and rental value. If it wasn't a placebo I wouldn't bother. IMHO they aren't the be all end all of tone.. Don't get me wrong they are nice sounding...

Re: Essential components to recreate the EXPRESS sound....
...But as pointed out you can meter and build and unsolder and rebuild and have a different amp. This proves the impedance is very important. OK. I agree that you can disassemble/reassemble an amp and it may not sound the same. You can also disassemble/reassemble your amp so that it sounds exactly ...

Re: Essential components to recreate the EXPRESS sound....
My opinions have to some degree changed. After getting to know JM he is a very nice guy he doesn't claim to know everything however he has been very receptive toward turning my NOS parts into official TW circuit amplifiers. Which from an investment stand point that is a no brainer. Since a clone isn...

Re: Essential components to recreate the EXPRESS sound....
I'm confussed you started this thread but seen very opinionated. I think you should probably just build the amp as you think it should be and leave the correct amps to those who build them. Tried to help but you just can't except it. Sorry they all matter.. They all add impedance, resistance and cha...

Re: Essential components to recreate the EXPRESS sound....
about 80% correct parts based on Kens specifications any new parts are noted as possible substitutes from kens notes or cross references to current models. Ken had a lot of parts left in the shop. It will be a while before JM starts backing amps with new parts.
