Re: thin 3 wire power cord?

I would use a cable lock style cable restraint.

If you want it to look stock, use the proper sized drill and grommet.

The grommet would hide any drilling.

Re: Air can freeze spray question for poly caps

Not sure but we used to use the cold spray on semiconductors to test for thermal issues.

A sealed cap is pretty tight, but maybe not suitable for minus 200.

Re: Home Baked Real Bread!

What I can't figure out about bread and the gluten revolt is, man has made and eaten bread for thousands of years.

Now we have a problem with it?

I know about celiac disease but it seems the gluten thing is the latest fad.

Give me fresh warm bread with real butter and I am a happy camper. :D

Re: Anybody know about turntables?

I bought a cheap one a couple years back to see if I could play my old records. In fact I bought an import of Beatles Abbey Road to test it. What I remember from the past was getting the thing to track without skipping if somebody walked by, let alone dancing. If you set the weight too high, then yo...

Yeah, like that Chimp that tore the face off a owners female friend.

They are powerful wild animals no matter how cute they are.

Re: Pots for strat

Yeah CTS, will make pots for anybody if they want to pay for custom specs.

So sometimes it is luck of the draw what a business sells.

Many choices on specs from taper to turning resistance.

Re: A bit too much bass on OD - 2nd Gen Hybrid

I had too much bass. Dinked around with the cathode caps and did the single/ humbucker cap switch on V1A. (That helps a bit with a strat or LP) That worked great for the input! Schematic below. I also have all the cathode bypass preamp caps at 5uF. (other than the switched cap on V1A) I don't play o...

Re: Tone Stack - Mid Pot

I gotta say, when I built my ODS, I didn't think the mid control did much either. So it is a subtle tone control but along with bass and treble can round out the tone. As you get used to it, it will all become clear. :D If the bass overwhelms you, install lower value on the cathode bypass caps on V1...
