Re: Bassman transformer switch
Good to know Andy, thanks.FUCHSAUDIO wrote:The Weber matcher does match the impedance but will suck tone. It's an autoformer, and that's a few miles of wire that will change the way any amp responds for sure....
Good luck on the amp show!

Re: Jubilee
Martin brought up a good point (as most always). When you are looking at transformer specs, it is a must you know if the published specs are taken at full load or idle. For example, I bought an HTS9144 from RJ a couple of years ago. In this case, he was recommending subtracting 7% from the published...

Re: Jubilee
Yes Darin if you want the higher voltage go with the Marstran (or equivalent) 190-0-190.
I believe those Marstans are made for Marshalls so you should be good to go on the current load.
All the best.

Re: Jubilee
Thanks guys alvarezh...I am using that layout along with some schems I found I understand the 190x2 HT taps using no CT. My question is using a 350V (Mag Comp)PT no CT. Would this be 175x2 no CT...which would be 20-25V lower voltages? Sorry to drag this out. Want to make sure I get the right voltag...

Re: Jubilee
John, the amp has a "full wave bridge capacitor input", not a "full wave capacitor input" rectifier.
Check the Hammond PS design PDF, above.
190-0-190 volt PT is the correct one as per the Bob & Darin's calculations.

Re: Jubilee
Hi Darin.
It looks like the 190-0-190 is right for the job. I have a 2550 which is the 50 watter so my OT & PT numbers are not going to help you. I bought my PT from MetroAmp. The OT is a Mercury Magnetics.
