Re: Tweedle Dee on Carter

This amp looks like it may have started life as an Edge signature 5E3, but that's just a guess

Re: Stirs Neural pot

The problem with society now is firmware. Firmware is the best thing to happen to hardware since chrome plating. Who would have thunk the Helix I bought years ago would keep getting better and better? I get the whole thing where these devices are great when you have to cover a lot of different band...

Re: Stirs Neural pot

The problem with society now is firmware. I don't need firmware driven things. It's the solution to a non-existent problem. My car is a rolling living room with an iPad in the dash. The key fob stopped working. Cost me nine hours of paid time off, a trip to the city, 80 miles round trip in gas and t...

Re: Deluxe Reverb power transformer change?

I ran some 6L6GWB/5881s in a Bassman at about 460V for a little less than a year before one flashed over. They were new production and decent-ish, but they weren't up for the challenge in the long run. I installed a pair of EL34s and increased the screen resistors and haven't looked back.

Re: Starting to populate the chassis....

See here: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=464718#p464718 I see Whopperplate has already included Aiken's glossary in an Electronics Glossaries post in the FAQ section, so maybe the new one I just added could be deleted. OTOH, maybe Aiken's guitar amp specific glossary deserves its own F...

Re: Cathode resistor and IM distortion

Tried to pm you but its stuck in my outbox? For better or worse, it remains stuck until the recipient reads it. <shrug> It's not really stuck. That's a feature that tells you the message has not been read. I like that feature. The bummer is that the forum software no longer sends out notifications ...
