Re: OD trimmer on back panel
I did a non-standard layout, which includes the OD trim as a pot on the front panel. Maybe someday I'll find the sweet spot setting where I don't change it anymore, but for now I'm glad to have it up front.

Re: Not the usual D build style (pix)
Made the swap to 7591s this weekend and the amp just seems happier. With 465 v on the plates I could not keep the 6v6 tubes from orange plating, even with a 640 ohm cathode resistor, and the idle current was way over max as well. With the new tubes there is nothing but robust clean sound, even with ...

Re: Not the usual D build style (pix)
Thanks for the comments. Here are a couple better shots and a close up of the knob that you asked about. The knobs were cut with a 1" plug cutter. Before cutting them loose from the slab, I drilled the sides for the set screw, the back for the 1/4" shaft, and the face for the dot. The dot material i...

Not the usual D build style (pix)
This has been a work in progress for 6 (!) years with lots of gaps. With the cab almost done (still need to do the back panel) I thought you guys might like to see some pictures. As you can see, I had some different ideas about construction, layout, and wiring. If all the info on this board had been...

Another vote for alesis microverb
Well, put me down as another one that prefers digital reverb. I have been using the Microverb in front of my P1X for quite a while, and I'm really happy with it I especially like the plate and large hall but with the mix down pretty low. . I had a passive effects loop for a while, but it would overl...

But we won't hold it against him......
A great player, a true original. An absolutely great show.

Re: HRM Switching
Interesting. I'm not sure I am totally understanding the circuit, is there a schematic showing what you describe? I wish all that information had been around when I did the layout (I have been working on this project off & on for literally 5 years). The circuits you describe sound worthwhile, but I ...

Re: HRM Switching
Not sure if we are talking about the same thing but I just have a DPDT switch between the plate of stage OD2 and the 100 K OD level control. One throw has the OD tone stack in the circuit, the other has the .005 cap and 330K resistor in series as shown in the Hybrid Re A schematic. I didn't use trim...
