Re: New Project
For my 6V6 SE power amp I followed the AX84 5 watt building block but with 302 volts on the plate due to a different PT and 5Y3 rectifier. Most say a tube rectifier is pointless with SE but I wanted the option to try it with different voltages. The AX84 schematic includes a ability to tweak cathode ...

Re: New Project
Years ago Mat in Finland posted a SE ODS with no "phase inverter." By all accounts it sounded great https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10913&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=hrm&start=0 There have been a number of others since then, search the forum on "mini hrm". In my own (limited) expe...

Cool. Will be watching with interest as I cycle through preamps in my ever-evolving SE platform.

Re: Magnatone build
Not to go off topic, but that tone control looks similar to the Tone King Imperial "Mid-Bite" control. Different values, but same arrangement.Smokebreak3 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 11:43 pm Yea that tone control is neat, it acts as a mixture of cathode bypass on one side, and high frequency dump on the other, or a mix.

Sounds great. How do you access the pay per view? Can you stream it on the web or do you need cable TV?

FWIW, LED bias was discussed on the AX84 forum at least as early as 2003

Re: The Constellation - time for a reset
... it looks like you have figured out you need to fit another piece of wood in the cavity left by the old bridge. A shame in a way, your top has developed a beautiful patina over the years and matching it with a new piece would take quite a bit of experimentation with wood stains, and even then, t...

Re: The Constellation - time for a reset
Thanks. I found your earlier thread about your Constellation https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=34113&p=422428&hilit=constellation#p422428 Very nicely done. My interest in the Hannes is mainly the individual string height adjustability needed with a compound radius fingerboard. I see th...

Re: The Constellation - time for a reset
Really nice fixture, especially the thumb wheel adjustability. Totally worth it for what you are doing. Will you fill the fret slot before routing?
What do you think of the Hannes bridge? I’m thinking of retrofitting one on an old build of mine.

Re: Has Anyone Built a Tone King Imperial?
Yes the 20th Anniversary schematic. So V1A is warm biased and no cathode bypass capacitor, and the tone stack components are a little different from the standard Fender values.
Have you measured voltages in the real amp you have?
