I think it's pretty uncommon for it to be connected to anything but the drain.
[ I actually think it's pretty much a MOSFET "by definition" kind of thing that it's connected to the drain, but if I say that, a counterexample will certainly appear. ]

Re: Looks like it's just me - was TAG search results broken?
Yeah, it doesn't even have to be search results. I took the link to this thread, added a highlight tag, and it broke it for me. http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=356316&highlight=proxy Using the FF web debugger, it looks like the proxy is just blocking the entire request. I edited the topic...

Re: Looks like it's just me - was TAG search results broken?
It's broken in IE, as well. I didn't even try Chrome - as you said, it's much harder to coax into visiting TAG. I am behind a mildly-restrictive corporate proxy. Perhaps some change was made recently, although I can't explain why it would only affect the &highlight tags. The rest of the site is func...

Re: Looks like it's just me - was TAG search results broken?
Firefox 43.0.4 and Win8. That is really weird. It just started yesterday. It was intermittent for a while but changed to 100% of search results. I thought maybe it was a temporary site issue but it's still acting up today. Thanks for testing. It helps a lot to know that it's on my end somewhere! Dav...

Really nice clip! This is a boot in the rear to me to finish my Express build! Such a dynamic amp.
The other thing this clip tells me is that maybe I need to spend less time building and more time practicing. Really nice playing, Glen.
Thanks for sharing this.

Looks like it's just me - was TAG search results broken?
EDITED title as I think it's a local config problem at my end. Anyone else having problems with Search results? If I search for, well, anything, I get search results back just fine. If I click any of the result links, I get a TCP error, and "The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing oth...

Nicely done!
A few years ago I fixed my furnace with parts on hand. The motor start cap had gone south and I happened to have an extra of the right size laying around from my rotary phase converter build. I felt like such a badass that day.

Re: Probably a stupid HR Deville question
I am a rank amateur, but I will take a swing at where to go next. Something is causing you to drop about twice as much voltage as you should be across those 330 resistors. I know you didn't touch the zeners or the caps, but are they bad? This looks to be the PS for the TL072. Pre-amp outout buffer? ...

Re: Airbrake - Custom
Very cool! Always good to hear a success story in attenuator land. So many of them end up being a disappointment.
I need to get off my butt and "finish" mine so I can commence tweaking.

Re: Captive/insert/press-in nuts
Yep, press them in with red (bearing-type) Loctite, and/or stake them after they're pressed in. You may find that 1/2 ton is surprisingly little force. Maybe buy a c-clamp as a backup. ;) You will need a reasonable accurate hole, in roundness and size, or they won't hold worth a damn. Or they just w...
