Re: Is My Scope Working Properly
At a quick glance I see Horizontal Display Selector set to channel "A" while your probe is plugged into channel "B". Also, kill everything that has anything to do with delayed sweep. You won't need for some time yet. Check the probe. This scope has an internal calibration signal output, 1kHz square ...

Re: Bias cirquit
Aha. OK. By the time I got to the schematic I already forgot what I read in the first post. Then reactive (capacitive) coupling is the way to go.

Re: Bias cirquit
A full wave bridge is composed of two dual phase half wave rectifiers. (confusing, isn't it?)
With secondary winding's center tap grounded you can get a positive or negative rectified voltage or both as long as any rectifier output isn't floating without ground reference.

Re: Giving away info you are entrusted to keep.
If I understand this correctly, some individual obtained a piece of secret black magic under condition of confidentiality? Ok. Whoever was the first to feel the urge to break this promise of confidentiality is a dishonest attention seeking weakling. At least in my book. There are only that many tube...

Re: Giving away info you are entrusted to keep.
Over the years, there has been an inner circle of TAG members, who shared secrets that the rest of us were never privy to. Those entrusted with the info would have been kicked out of the club if they ever shared it. Fortunately, some of the inner circle over the years got tired of the secrecy and r...

Re: Transformer Current Rating
Jesus Fowler I hope you were referring to the Current Calculator on that thread. VacuumVoodoo's post just drained me, too much info at once! Am I right in saying that he is basically saying to get max clean output from the valves a properly designed PSU is required? So Marshall's use of an underrat...

Re: New user, first build, almost works!
VacuumVoodoo: I haven't clipped the cap yet, what would you expect to happen? I'm trying to learn here. As a side note, I completely disconnected the presence and thus the negative feedback. It did not fix the treble problem at all. C25 shorts any AC feedback signal straight to Mother Earth thus le...

Re: Amp Builders - Electrical Safety
CE is mandatory. It is 2014, 1994 standards and norms are in 90% outdated and obsolete. You must provide a Declaration of Compliance with a number of regulatory norms, nowadays CE includes ROHS & WEEE. You declare full compliance, not conformity. You must be able, when asked by authorities, to provi...

Re: Fender rverb trafo with different value!!!
There are dedicated safety covers for both lug sides to attach if you plan on mounting the transformer externally.
I usually install the reverb transformer inside the chassis.
