Bad thing is I have to eat them as my supplier won't make good on them after a short return time. I stock quite a few tubes for repa...

Re: Keep loosing smoothing cap on OD tube
Structo, They are leaking voltage. I can lift one leg and the channel comes back, found it by only having about 35v on the plate of that triode and the other side having normal ~200v on the plate. The OD channel was not workings, you can guess, happened 2 times in about a month. Overtone, thanks for...

Re: Sho-Bud TelStar Steel Amp
Thanks Bill. I had found that also and have an e-mail sent to Ken Fox. The Compactra 100 schematic is out there and has helped a lot, although it doesn't have the tremolo circuit and the ever exciting and elusive "Sho-Fuzz" circuit. It wasn't working and now it is. But I'm not completely s...

Need a Chassis 5D2
Got an original 5D2 cabinet only. Looking for an either original or repo chassis. The 5F2A chassis is too wide. Needs to be 13.5 inches wide. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Stereo amplifier
I've been looking at the same thing for a while. Nice small tube amp in the shop to run a CD player, Computer out and my sat radio through. Been using an old Pioneer solid state A/V stereo receiver for a long time......it finally crapped on me so now I have an excuse to build a stereo amp. I know I ...

Re: Tube recommendation - Super Reverb
I'm with vibratoking; =C= 6L6 have more depth and aren't as brash, TungSolskie in 5881s are nice also. JJs pre-amp tubes are fine, I find myself using them in all positions but V1 and then I like the TungSolskie 12AX7 or a nice NOS 5751.

Re: Shockmounting Valves
Wouldn't it be easier to just isolate the head from the cab? These are what I use on all my amps. I get them from CE.
