Re: wreck clone build paul ruby
I thought Spalted Maple was a soft wood and prone to damage.
How's it holding up? Do you take it out at all?

My Express Build!
Howdy all! I'm new here. I heard about this forum from some gents in The Gear Page, they suggested I root around in here to pick up info for my first 'wreck build. Sadly, I didn't realize till reading these forums that Ken was no longer with us. I hear he was a cool cat, and someone I'd love to have...

Re: I've just completed an...huh... Express...huh...radio...
If I get the missing/defective parts from Nik, I'll be showing off my build soon. But I have a feeling it will take a week before I get these two little parts.

Re: Warmoth Compound Fingerboard Radius?
I replaced my Strat neck with a Warmoth 24 3/4" scale neck (short fingers  ) with 10"/16" radius. I love it. SS frets are smooth as glass 8) I also recommend have the frets dressed with a PLEK machine if you can. It will give you the most accurate, consistent fret dressing available. It's pri...

Re: The Les Paul Dilemma
I'm no LP expert, but in the same boat as you as a matter of fact. Funny thing I went with a PRS instead back in the early 90s. And when I got bored of that and sold it, I've since been playing a somewhat rare Joe Satraini model Ibanez that's naked mohogany with dual humbuckers in the sexy curvy bod...

Re: E Caps for '62 Magnatone
You can sorta see one of the caps in question poking through in this shot on the bottom right:

E Caps for '62 Magnatone
I have an old '62 Magnatone I actually pulled out of someones trash...had the original tubes in it and all (kinda rough cosmetically). After a little cleaning it played well, but I know I really should be replacing those filter caps...I'm starting to get volume drops and other oddities. I'm torn bet...

Re: Finally Finished!!
racerx23: I got the Filter Caps from Allied Electronics, same place I got the Mallory PVC caps. Everything else came from Mouser or Billy. Steve Steve, do you have part numbers for the Filter Caps and the Mallory PVC caps you used? I have a Ceriatone kit on the way, completely unassmbled so I can u...
