Re: Dumbleland Special Schematic
Shouldn't there be a coupling cap before the trimmer? I can trace B+ from the previous plate to that trimmer, on to the LOW switch (and on the HI switch if the caps are not properly rated), and through the 820k to the next grid. Am I missing something?

Sorry to post on an old thread but I want to reference these cabs. Where can you buy the front corners for Dumble style cabs that need a flat front? Specifically the 3 hole corner with a counter sink for the screws. Closest one I could find was in Australia, surely there must be something closer?

Who Sells Fully Tested Tubes in North America
Hi Guys, I've been having some bad luck with tubes lately. Seems like I'm getting a lot of tubes that aren't DOA, but have issues. Rattling, buzzing, dying after a few days, etc. All different types, all different brands, not singling anybody out. I'm just looking for regular current production tube...

Re: Marshall Major Schematic Accuracy - Phase Inverter Question
Thanks for the replies guys, confirms what I thought. In the meantime I did some poking around the net and it looks like the schematic itself should be correct. This is a "corrected" schematic as there are mistakes in a lot of the other schematics floating around the net, and I was suspicious of the...

Marshall Major Schematic Accuracy - Phase Inverter Question
Based on the attached Marshall Major schematic and the curves of the 12AX7, how can the grid of V2b be 10V less than than the cathode? Doesn't that mean that the tube is biased at -10V and is way past cutoff? The curves only go as high as -5V. I've heard that you can't get an accurate measurement wi...

Re: Classic Low Plate PAB
(Edit:just saw that mojotom has already suggested the same thing) You can try the bluesmaster pab padded with a resistor,i find it usefull especially with a strat and it will not alter your tonestack in any way. It's easy to implement it too.You have to disconnect the bass tail resistor from ground...

Re: Classic Low Plate PAB
Thanks for the reply. That is most likely correct. If there was one place I would have even guessed SRV used PAB, it would have been Voodoo Chile, as I don't think it was a single TS, there seems to be something extra going on in that one. But it's more likely that it could be 2 TS's, or even a fuzz...

Re: Classic Low Plate PAB
I'm excited to try this. I guess I should also add that I'm using single coil pickups, even though the SRV reference should be a hint.

Thanks for the reply, that sounds promising. I'll use resistors to test it out.

Classic Low Plate PAB
I am super happy with my modified SF Bassman to SSS002 specs, except for the PAB, which of course wasn't on the SSS002 schematic. I have a killer SRV tone set up with my Bass and Treble on about 5 and my Mids at about 3. When I switch in the 2 x 22Meg PAB just about all of the Bass gets dumped and t...

Re: LT Spice Error
Thanks for the reply Marcus. I used these and they worked right away. I'll pick up the nuances of SPICE as I go along.
