Re: New HRM build
The first one I made was too short so I just 'stretched' the drawing, I did not spend time to re-do the circles, however, because they are just markers for drill holes and I was anxious to etch the board. My dimensions were based on the width of my main board that I made and those dimensions were di...

Re: New HRM build
I think the correct size HRM board layout was never uploaded. Here it is. Realize when I built this some of the trimmers work in reverse. For my purposes I copied the pictures exactly and that is how it came out . I don't know the original, I only know the pictures, so I won't comment if that is rig...

Re: Taking bets!
I had an amp in which the old crusty flux had become conductive. This created random crackling. Took me two or three tries over a few years to figure it out.

Re: Long tail PI vs cathodyne
Good sounding cathodyne amp I have been working with lately. A little different than the usual Fender circuits. May give you some ideas.

Re: Check this out......
Less number of PC boards in that than in later amps.
Black/Gold = 6PC boards
Typical HRM (200+) = 7 PC boards

Re: Gibson EH-125
Not shown yet on the schematic is the fact that the only grounding input jack is the one for "Microphone," which is the one attached to the volume control. So, if the guitar is plugged in there, the other two jacks are 'open' and can pick up noise. Rather than alter the amp, I just made a shorting 1...

Re: Gibson EH-125
The clean sounds were done with a 1993 Telecaster . When I started playing guitar that would have been like having a 1956 Telecaster.

Re: Gibson EH-125
The resistor is not unknown, I just forgot to write it down. I'll open it up tonight and clean up the schematic. I haven't mentioned it but I have been thinking this through the whole project. I bet this circuit can hold its own to the popular "tweed deluxe" and is probably worth copying for fun and...

Re: Gibson EH-125
Picture of the finished speaker before going back in the cabinet. The repair worked great. Good thing because I could not find a replacement two-coil, 6-ohm, 1" voice coil replacement.
