I am lucky to have the basement to myself with jam room filled with my PA, recording gear, drums, bass and guitars/amps.

Here is my workbench downthere.

Re: Potential Liverpool Layout problem

I built my LP based on the layout sticky and I noticed that it differs from both the Express layout as well as Ceriatone layout. Probably explain I have read people say their amps are too bright and non-interactive tone circuit. response. I am going to open my LP backup and try some things.

I like your amp and use of what you have. reminds me of the things my brothers and I would make after scrounging the local scrap yards.

Re: My first amp (express) build...

I'm no expert in amp building. I made some mistakes being in a rush. Make sure the wire on the bottom of both boards are done. I didn't do my faceplate right away and wished I had so consider that as well. Take your time and think it through. Revisit the Layout files for the Express as the wiring on...

Re: New build Liverpool finished

I ended up at the local hardware outlet and got some .040 aluminun sheet 24 x 12 only size they had and cut that out, filed the cut ends. Drilled four large holes for the chassis screws. Bolted it down with short screws for now and will drill some smaller holes being careful to locate the holes in p...

Re: Rocket build "Angel"

Tim/Ron Man we sure think alike because I was going to comment on how clean Gary's work bench is compared to mine but Tim beat me to it. Mine is still a mess and I picked it up and reorganized several times, what the heck. At least I think I know where everything is! Heehe :D . Gary did you come up ...

Re: Rocket build "Angel"

Gary Did you use 18 solid wires for this build? I used 20 solid on my Liverpool but was thinking of using thicker wire for my next build. I remember your Cindy build now it was in black I think. I could just look back and find it. Edit: Found the other amp you built for your son she is a beauty. Mark

Re: My first amp (express) build...

Those 300B tubes have intrigued me since I first saw an amp in this guy's trunk of his classic hot rod at a car show and the tubes were lite up and music pumping, nice! My Ipod and Zen have since replaced my stereo; however. The records are sitting waiting for me to convert them all to CDs on my USB...

Re: Hammond TW style chassis

Glen and Allyn I still would like to have some blank chassis for non TW builds like bandmaster or tremolux build in a TW style head cab.

But on the other hand Allyn's chassis could also be used for those as well.

Re: New build Liverpool finished

Ron are most guys also using the stick on cork to help absorb the shock as well? I ran across some at Home Depot. I can't say that I have seen that used before but what the heck every little bit helps.
