Re: New build Liverpool finished

Well I had more time to night to play through the amp and of course I started getting some intermittent weird crackles on low notes so I assumed the speakers were rattling the tubes and stopped to check the guts out. I found a bad solder joint on the bottom red wire from the filter cap to stand by s...

Re: Question regarding wiring

I could be wrong but it really wouldn't matter so much on a Rocket build as it would with the Liverpool but I will leave that up to the experts out there.

Never mind I see this is an Express build not a Rocket build my mistake!

pureoldsound

It sounded good last night but all were sleeping so I kept it down, tonight I want to let it fly. But I really should be getting in there and do my voltage first.

Re: fender 568 trouble

On working with the Fender Tremolux, Bassman, and Super reverb amps I have owned, that type of sound your hearing I usually found with old filter caps. I would also change some of the other caps in the circuits as well.

Re: New build Liverpool finished

Thanks Rooster I originally did have that center lug wired but when going through the amp I thought that couldn't be right so I cliped it and you can still see the solder left on it. I will wire it back up if that is why that center is being used. I like the Bourns pots also. I forgot to mention Ton...

Do you have more files or information on building this amp because I want to build one. Did you make your board or where did you get one and BOM on this. I could just go through the schematic but if you have that would be cool.

Re: DrZ KT45

Benoit There really are a lot of good amps in the store now I find myself coming in way too often. Where the heck has Jason been? Today they said was his day off and I haven't seen him for a week. I lived in Phoenix for 3 years and of course that is where Genz Benz is from in Scottsdale, so I played...

Re: New build Liverpool finished

Thanks Allyn I will get some clips done and posted. I know I have some solder spit on the chasis and will blow it out tomorrow and clean it up.

This was fun and nerve wrecking at the same time.

I will have to order that Rocket chasis from you next Allyn.

New build Liverpool finished

I thought I was having trouble with my new build since it blew a fuse on first powerup. But I went through the amp and did not find anything but a loose heater wire, fixed that and resoldered some things. Popped the JJ EL84s in and EH 12ax7s and fired it up again this time I had music. I moved the a...

New build Liverpool finished

I have been having some troubles at least I thought I was and rechecked the whole amp over many times an did some resolder here and there but nothing major and my amp came to life tonight and sounded very good especially without a bottom cover or in a head as of yet. I have not gone through my volta...

Re: DrZ KT45

I finally got to test drive the KT-45 and it is one nice amp with the enclosed 212 bottom. It was loud but could get some dirt right from the get go with the gain knob. This was a new issue unit with optional wood face plate asking price $1995 or something close to that. Almost left with it and went...

Re: Hammond TW style chassis

Thanks Allyn Allyn your chassis are the same as the Bud? That I did not know or I would have stopped this insame shopping list a long time ago. Since I own one of yours already I know that your chassis is very good. Why didn't you stop me at my first post, that would have save me some time. I didn't...

Re: What's your favorite 2xEL84 Amp?

My Egnator Rebel 20 with mixable 2 EL84 and 2 6V6 sounds fantastic and priced at $599. I am enjoying this little amp and going to pickup his 50 watt version mixable 2 6L6 and 2 EL34.
