Re: SSS002 build happiness
The Layout shows 5 terminals on the can cap. Why? The gut shot you posted of #002 is very blurry and pixelated, and the two large resistors block all but one terminal. It's impossible to tell how many terminals are on that can. How do we know HAD used a C-EC20X-475 cap? Has someone documented it fr...

Re: SSS002 build happiness
This is the 4x20uF I have experience with, and think of when I see 5 terminals on a 4 cap can. Single-Section and Multi-Section Can-Style Electrolytic Capacitors (1).pdf Thats a different can cap. See the BOM for the SS002 project: https://www.cedist.com/products/capacitor-ce-mfg-475v-20202020-f-el...

Re: SSS002 build happiness
Resurrecting an old thread... First, THANK YOU for all of the work you have done on SSS02!!! I think I see an error on the layout. On the final two 20uF filter caps in the can providing power to V1 and Reverb: B+ is tied to the Negative terminal of the can cap, then the 1k resistors to the the posi...

Re: Drooling
ofcourse but kemper has advantage in consistent recording, which is extremely difficult with any amp and speakers.. kemper has some settings of pick sensitivity, this when setup correctly is ok No complains in general on the Kemper, but rhe Sss002 with pedals is another level. The latter is more in...

Drooling
After a couple of years doing jazz gigs and stand-in replacement I'm back in a commercial band playing anything from jazz to rock to funk. The guys in the band wanted silent rehearsels, so bought a 2nd hand Kemper profiler. I'm impressed, recording at it's best is a decent description. Doing fast sw...

Re: Starting to populate the chassis....
Now for my criticism to you guys. I'm building a #124 100watt head. Looking forward to having it work, I hope I get it to work. Maybe not the best choice but I didn't want to build a kit. I wanted to pick and choose my components, make mistakes along the way. That's how we learn, make a mistake and...

Yes correct, and 250k makes life easier for finding a bass sweet spot.Raoul Duke wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 1:16 pm Thanks Erwin!
So most BM/HRM circuits’ optimal bass adjustment setting is under 250k then based on what I’m reading. Is that fairly consistent with your experience and impressions of others’ builds?
Thanks again!

Re: Bluesmaster HRM question:
Trying to understand the “mega boost”/PAB in this amp. I understand that there’s some variation based on the individual amp - so the first question is: 1. Is PAB the same as “mega boost”? If not - what is the difference? Is it something unique not in the layout or schematic? For the FET: layout loo...

Re: SSS CF Driver Compression Questions
Those cathodes have a connection to the LNFB loops. Otherwise the LNFB loops would be shunted to ground.I see a schematic of #002 with added 100R resisters. Can anyone explain what those are going for?

Re: SSS CF Driver Compression Questions
A part of the compression is coming from the LNFB loops. Especially when you drive the first volume pot a little more.
Not all SSS are the same as are the LNFB loops.
Which one do you have?
