Re: make your ceriatone come to life!!!

I have had similar results in other amps factory equipped with "Illinois" caps. Illinois, Asia maybe. This is a solid tip.

Re: Capacitors - why Orange drop and not Fender blue

I was going through my 6PS caps and I came across some Spragues that looked older and kind of a toastier orange color. They're labeled A1-081. They're .047 600 DC. They look just like an older 6PS. Anyone know of this number?

Re: trash day!

Cool find. I found a '58 Princeton at a thrift store that the owner had found in a dumpster. I traded him an Acoustic 50 watt combo for it. Sometimes you get lucky!

Re: Boogie MKIIB ....... hmmm

After a closer look, the left hand RCA jack seems to say "reverb", I guess it's the switch jack? The left hand 1/4" says "boost" and something, so it's probably the tonestack bypass jack.

After reading the manual, I'm totally confused about those jacks. Thanks for the download, Structo.

Re: Got shocked BAD

i've taken a few nasty shocks over the years. One of 440vdc off of a transmitter final with the addition of high frequency R.F. The burn mark on my hand took 14 years to dissappear. The first shock was as as a toddler, sticking a knife into a wall outlet. Then as a 10 year old, i was trying to remo...

Re: Boogie MKIIB ....... hmmm

That's my favorite Boogie. Very nice. I wasn't crazy about the lead channel; it sounded kind of ratty to me. I don't know if that was just mine or what. It might be worth a mod to that channel. The clean side is just beautiful, IMO. Some Boogies' reverbs were weaker than others, not sure why. Too ba...

Re: favorite 6v6's for D'lite?

It's funny how almost every amp I've ever seen with 6V6's is at least 400 volts. I used to use the JJ's in my Twin with no problem. Now there's a stout 6V6.

Is that a K120?
No, that's just Dave giving me a hard time about letting go of a JBL G125-8, possibly the best 12" guitar speaker ever made.
I did not know that!
