Allyn's Pacific Transformers (Rocket and Express) schematic?
Hey All, After a long hiatus I'm back to this amp building for fun. My question is I have 2 sets of transformers from Allyn. They are Pacific. For the Express the numbers are PT 2112 and OT 2113. For the Rocket they are PT 2111 and OT 2117. Does anyone have the wiring schematic for the transformers?...

Re: Lowry Organo -for parts?
Rip it apart...as a veteran of almost 5 organ massacres I can tell you some of those parts are good and some are crap. I have built some great sounding amps and pedals with reclaimed organ parts...although you must measure them to be sure. Most of the non-standard tubes aren't worth much so I end up...

Re: Here is my GA40 build...check this bad boy out
Inspiration came from two places: 1) My /13 FTR 37 click channel (heavily based on the GA40) 2) Victoria Electro King reviews & pics that I've read And from what I hear coming out of my amp I think I made the right choice. The bonus is the trem channel which has a different character and the trem is...

Re: Here is my GA40 build...check this bad boy out
Nice job Rich, not a rats nest at all - and the PTP is cool. Why only 2 Jupiters - only on one channel ? Looks like the resistors are the mil spec ones from Westlabs and that's a Plexi chassis, right ? The Jupiters are used in the PI, I figured I'd give them a shot. Honestly I can't say whether tha...

Here is my GA40 build...check this bad boy out
Well...here it is and it rocks. First off, I know it looks like a rats nest in there, but I put this thing together carefully, in sections, and this amp is quiet as shit! I mean hardly noticiable nosie floor even with both of those 5879's in there. The build follows the schedmatic pretty close. I di...

Re: Anyone here built a Matchless dc30????
I'll pop in and say I've used both the 15w set and the 30 watt set of the TDS stuff.
Built a Lightning and a 30 watt hybrid Rocket/C30.
Tranformers are great! Plus, my all time favorite amp (/13 FTR 37) uses them as well.

Re: OT on Dr. Z Stangray
I built this AC30/4 with a few modifications to bring it into modern times (higher filtering & a few other value tweaks) --> http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=623882 I used this schematic as a guide --> http://www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/vox/ac34ef86.pdf Anyway, I used the HTS-8093-...

Re: New amp build - AC30/4 w/pics
Hey, good eye! The amp bug bit me and I decided to do another build. I actually spent some time thinking about which build to do. The circuits are different, but essentially the similar layouts can be used. I like the grind of the EF86 and it is a bit more aggressive, IMO. Previously I built a Match...

Re: New amp build - AC30/4 w/pics
The preamp's cathode bypass cap is in backwards, no? Also it looks big for a 25/25, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Very nice and clean layout. Holy crap..you are right. Wow. Tunnel vision on my part. The cap is a 22uf 450v (it's what I had on hand) other than the black Spragues which I'...

Re: New amp build - AC30/4 w/pics
Thanks for the good words guys. To answer a few Q's: - PT is Moose standard PT using the 260 tap - OT is the Dynaco clone HTS-8093-1 -Tubes are a NOS Mullard EF86 Smooth Plate, 1 ANOS GE Long Plate (circa 1958...one in the pic is a 60's RCA), (4) Saratov EL84's (circa 1984) and 1 good ol' Chinese Si...

New amp build - AC30/4 w/pics
Here is an EF86 4xEL84 build I just completed. I used this schematic: http://www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/vox/ac34ef86.pdf A few minor modifications - .047 for PI coupling caps, 8.2K power resistor to the PI to give it a little more ooomph, and I put the 1st filter cap before the standby ala' Tranwr...

Re: Transformer choice for Stang ray
I'm in process of building an AC30/4 using Toneslut iron. I built one prior to this with scrap parts so I am anxious to build one with good iron.
Just a suggestion, try the AC30/4 without the tone control. The CG tone just seems to choke off the amps tone, IMO.
