Re: What is this 'tube' in a 65 Amp London Pro?

In a notoriously difficult V1 (think BOOGIE MKllb where they used a FETRON) it "could" be just the ticket; sound quality (subjective) is another issue... I'm currently running one in an original MKllb; still searching for a real tube that's both quiet enough AND toneful. I keep a couple in the bag f...

Re: SR Preferred Curcuit & Mods? PROPOSED SCHEMATIC ADDED

Thanks, MM- I have some of the pot-tab ground lugs (thanks, RJ!) left over from a Rocket build; was planning on using a couple to string a buss wire across the back of the pots without soldering to the actual shells... sounds like a plan. I have a few builds under my belt, just never a scratch-built...

Related subject question-
When You build a Blackface Fender, what do You use / where can you get the brass grounding plate that appears in every BF I've seen? MOJO shows the blank chassis but makes no mention of the grounding plate. Would a ground buss serve as well / better?

The latest printing of this book is NOT the easy-lay-down binding of the original; The copy I have is bound like a big paperback... Great book; just not bench-friendly anymore...

Re: Gerald Weber Tube Guitar Amp Servicing and Overhaul video

He's fairly sharp and fairly weird; but nowhere near the ripoff f&&kup that Dan Torres is... Dan has ruined many a cool old amp and instructed a million newbies to ruin theirs while taking their $$ for crap mod kits...

Grounding Tabs...

Could anyone tell Me where to purchase a small supply of the pot grounding tabs shown here; I'm not having any luck finding them online. Perhaps someone would be willing to sell me about a dozen from their stash? Any info appreciated; thanks in advance...tubetek

Re: Dropping the B+ voltages....

I also recommend the Russian EL84M; they will live in this setup...BUT- Have You checked the filament voltage? I'll bet it's about 6.8-7.0 volts. My guess is that PT was spec'ed at 110VAC, common in the 60s. At nominal 120VAC these days (I'm 124 today), The best bet could be to lower the wall voltag...

Re: 5D4 TWEED SUPER carcass parts help!

Thanks, Martin...That matches the voltages; but it is a laydown mount and the 5D4 uses a standup style... Hoping to keep it as close to original as I can. MC has one that matches that spec in a stand up but it seems to be unavailable or discontinued... # 40-18094
