Re: 5D6 Bassman amp build in 5E3 cab.

The cat has his claws. The grill cloth is from an old Hammond tone cab. Everything in this build was vintage and used. At first, I built the amp with used paper and wax capacitors that were tested good but were too leaky so in went new caps. I won't rewire the Fender input for 6SL7 tubes but I will ...

5D6 Bassman amp build in 5E3 cab.

I put a 5D6 amp into a 5E3 cab. The fender style input has a 12AY7 input and the other input has a 6SQ7 tube with Marshall type values from RobRob's website. Output tubes are 5881s and the negative bias is supplied from a 6X4 tube. Power supply is from 5Y3, 80 or both. A mercury 83 maybe used in the...

Re: Anyone using 60uf total for the 1st Filter on express?

Yes, it worked fine for an Express I just completed two months ago. I used a JJ 32+32 can cap for the first node with the intention of adding more capacitance if needed. It is the only Express type amp that I have played so I can't say how it is compared to proper Express.

Re: Monkeymatic Trinity (5e3 Deluxe)

Love the layout of this amp and have enjoyed seeing the other builds you have been posting. This one sounds like a nice 5E3.

Re: Safety Compliance

Everyone who gets an amp from me gets the same story. "This may look like an amplifier but it is a piece of art, it is not intended to be plugged into an electrical outlet...that would void the warranty".

Re: Alessandro Beagle Style build

The transformers are made by Magnequest. If you contact Mike there, he may sell a similar transformer to you. I had a beagle for many years. Very nice amp but cannot come close to the 15 watt Rockets that I have built.

Re: DC Heater Question

I think it is a good idea to use a 6.3 lantern battery to run your preamp tubes. I have been thinking about that solution for heater hum with octal tubes like the 6SL7s. You could keep the battery and use your circuit to charge the battery.
