The real kicker of the Trainwreck amps is it's the combo of the pre-amp and power-amp sections and careful s...

Re: Yet another build thread (YABT).. warning: big pictures.
Looks great, the whole range of pictures reminds me of my own building experience of 'Geraldine' my Express clone. I hope it sounds as good as it looks!!! Welcome to the community!

copper grounding bus
I used some 2.5mm2 (EU standard) electrical wire, normally used for ordinary house installations to wire up switches to lights, etc. Just strip it and when using Alpha pots (like I did) scratch the backs and solder it onto it. Use your faceplate (the back) to keep the stack in place and 'voilà' as w...

Re: Trainwreck Cab Construction
Back on topic now, I just pulled up my Express building guide coz I knew that in there somewhere there was a little trick for building a cherry cab. Woodcraft still lists these drawers. Anybody got any experience ordering from these guys and was the result up to the test??? How did you like the cab ...

Hey Glen,
I'm the proud owner of one of your instrumental CD's and play it every day, so I was looking forward to some new stuff with the Wreck...but none of the tracks seem to work? Anything wrong with the upload?
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: Cherry Cabinets to Trainwreck Specifications
Sounds promising, but with shipping and all to France that might still be outside of my current budget. I'm trying over here in Paris for now and see what I can dig up. There are some carpenters/furniture builders and I'm currently awaiting results to my query.
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: Trainwreck Cab Construction
Thank you all very much for your input, I value it all very much, I'll consider my options and shop around for some timber, as I said, the beech, birch and oak are readily available in most hardware outlets, more exotic stuff is harder to come by except teak...but hey that stuff is like harder than ...

Re: Trainwreck Cab Construction
My dad and brother are in construction but I don't really think they could help me with this, on top of that...they still live in Holland while I moved to France, so delegating it whilst living here is not really an option. Plus I'd like to be able to say I build my amp totally by myself :) Anyway, ...

Trainwreck Cab Construction
Hi guys, my Express is once again, cabless, my provisional pine cab buckled under the weight of the chassis during a lift for a rehearsal last friday. I wanna construct something a bit more durable but I only have access to manual tools, no machines. So I'm probably going into something like beech o...

Novella : A Liquid Earth
Hi, just to let you guys know, I just picked up a real copy of the Novella CD on our Priceminister site in france, I downloaded the tracks from here but I kinda like collecting actual Trainwreck recordings. If any of you can point out any other bands that actually use these amps on their recordings,...

Re: Express Faceplate ideas
Hi PRS, Looks awesome, and a nice simple style cab as well, I have to redo mine, it's basic pine painted brownish and it's really ugly...I can't seem to get my hands on rosewood over here and anyhow, I lack the experience and tools to actually shape it into a cab. I can get my hands easily on Alder,...
