the express - just over a year later
I usually pop in and out here just occasionally these days, reading much more than posting, thought id stick a 1 year later report and invite any of you guys who have an express for a while to do the same. Everyone loves them at the start, I would like to see post honeymoon comments in this thread I...

Re: Wreck Cab with a difference

Structo... oak yes, ... as for the liberty caps..... there are more things going on in that burning than i could write in a week so like the lyrics of a cryptic song, the detail is probably best...

Wreck Cab with a difference
A good friend did the wood burning, I know its not in keeping with wreck cab tradition but im very pleased with the final result. Just finished with the danish oil today, it may get another coat or two, it is good to have a complete amp 15 months after the build started [img:1280:960]http://www.japa...

Re: Speaker cleaning?
from what ive heard.... removing the dust WILL change the tone... if you like em as is, why not just leave em alone, that dust may have mojo that could take another 20 years to replace.... but i could also be completly wrong

Re: need advice for 1st TW build
Despite the advice to go with something simpler, there are a significant number of people who have built an express as a first amp, I am one of them. Decent soldering skills, common sense, patience, attention to detail and following the 100's of pages of discussion both now and throughout your build...

Re: I'm broke but you may not be
Bought a H4 about 4 months ago, great for recording practice/jam/gigs. It has real pain in the ass menus that need the techno adaptability of a 10 year old to use it for anything complicated. None of that really matters as its recording function is what i was really after, and at least that is prett...

Re: This forum - too much attitude lately.
I've been here on and off for almost a year now, however I post much much less than I read. I have to say, for me anyway, I have not found that attitude on here, in fact quite the opposite. I have no idea which particular threads or members are involved in this aparent change on the ampgarage......I...

Re: Ahh..... if only I didnt have to work for a living
couldn't agree more, creativity is now a dirty word in the workplace, .... The industry i work in, spends half of its time measuring the other half. If they ever decided to just do a job, i wouldn't have one.... i'm just a measurer :D with a remit to construct imiganary boxes for others to tick. Luc...

Re: Ahh..... if only I didnt have to work for a living
I spent 5 years at war with my last two corporate asses, one eventually got cancer and left, the next one was moved on. While I wouldn't wish cancer on even my worst enemy, I am enjoying being left alone to do my job these days. It still takes 40 hours a week of my time, too damn much IMO. saw an in...

Re: need some advice restoring a vox ac15
had a chat with its owner tonight, from what he knows it was bastardised by its previous owner, so it has already been modified. he reckons it is a 60's model so i dont think it wants to be anything else other than a vox, so you are probably right firestorm, worth restoring properly. I found this on...
