Re: CE manufacturing multisection caps...

Used one here with satisfactory results: http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=

The chassis was punched for a multicap, so watcha gonna do? Make the best of it, make it rock, move on.

Re: Cameron Marshall Mods

A friend of mine just dropped off a 100 watter that I had built about 5 years ago. It's a high/low gain Jose type with dual inputs, dual gain, bright switchws, bass boost, frequency...all the bells and whistles... It's done on a marshall platform and sounds like the vids and clips of the real ones. ...

Re: Cameron Marshall Mods

What amp is a good base for Jose mods? Do you have any schematics or layouts or guides or anything? 100 watter has the most girth, but you can use anything with enough headroom. No schems, just a few notes and a good memory. Hahaha, thanks Argonaut! Have you seen this video: http://www.youtube.com/...

Re: Cameron Marshall Mods

Ugg, cameron drama... :( ...uglier than TW and Dumble drama. Too bad it spread here.

But since it has, may as well do it up Amp Garage style.

High Gain Jose type amp, what do you guys want to know?

Rock! This is probably old news to some, but thought I'd mention it regardless. If you guys enjoy hearing and seeing JPJ rocking out as I do, check out Them Crooked Vultures. It's a kind of a Queens of the Foo Zepplins rock & roll kind of thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vF8Hug8ISMQ&feat...

Re: Starting new 50-60 watt Rocket Reverb

Hey Mark, that's a mighty fine looking build you have there. I really dig the faceplate and the chicken heads. Is that destined to be a combo or a head?

Re: PTP 20W Rocket

Hey fellas, thank you for the comments. I had built a stock Rocket using, what I thought to be, the important original type components. http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10774&highlight=rocket+fun Using this as my tonal reference, some observations: As one would expect, the stock rocket has...

PTP 20W Rocket

I posted this in another thread and had some requests for more info. I finally had a minute so I cut and pasted it here. Let me know if you need any other info. I'm a poor photographer, but here's some pics as promised. Been tweaking a bit, and now have the input paralleled with 120k/750R/22uf. Sorr...

Re: Metro Amps Is Done

I purchased parts from him occasionally and never had a complaint. Hopefully, this will be an opportunity for something better for him. You never know.

I really liked the aluminum marshall chassis he sold. Anyone know of another source for those?

Re: 2xel84 rocket

Here's my voltages: B+ 1-295v 2-284v 3-207v 4-177v 5-169v Keep in mind I'm using a 5y3 rectifier and a 270-0-270 120mA PT. Traditional dropping string values, with exception of choke. Also, I'm using both triodes of V1 and V2. The PT gets a bit toasty after a while, but not so much as to be concerne...

Re: 2xel84 rocket

Gee wiz, guys, thanks for nice comments. Like many here, building amps and music is my passion. To hear such kind comments from one's peers is truly appreciated. Thank you. Good point, Mark, on the search aspect. I don't have the time at the moment to post another thread, but will in the future. Unl...

I finally found my camera. I'm a poor photographer, but here's some pics as promised. Been tweaking a bit, and now have the input paralleled with 120k/750R/22uf. Sorry about the wrap on the components, not trying to hide anything, just get a bit artsy fartsy and weird on some builds. It's a ro...

Re: Z Wreck

That's correct Mark. 250mF 50V on bias resistor bypass. Thanks Mike, and I must say you got a winner with that Zwreck really like the videos showing how versitle the Zwreck can be. It seems that the B+5 is feed off the B+3 node rather than B+4 step down keeping the voltage high on the V1 tube. At l...

That's correct Mark.

Re: Z Wreck

Thanks for posting the pics and sound clips. IMO, anyway you slice it, it's an excellent sounding amp. Nice job, Z.

Can anyone make out (or know) the value of the bypass caps on the cathodes? I see they used one on V2.
