Re: Anyone rolled their own simul class power section?

the above link actually has nothing to do with simulclass. Simulclass requires 4 tubes.....2 tubes in class ab push pull and 2 tubes sometimes triode and sometimes ultralinear biased to puch pull class a

Re: half a liverpool problem, need help

I thought I had tried this last night with another set but I did have a few beers in me......one of these prefered series from the tube store is shit.Looks like they have a 6 month warranty. Sorry to waste your time, thanks

Re: half a liverpool problem, need help

yes individually and as a set, They are the russian military tubes from the tube store and only have a few hours on them. All tubes have been switched out with known good ones. I wish it was that simple. It has to be in the power supply I am figuring.

half a liverpool problem, need help

first off this amp has worked perfect since 2008 and has been used quite a bit. It is a 2 hole liverpool with a choke and a tube rectifier. I was jamming her out new years eve and she began to cut out. It lasts for only a second and recovers. You can actually see the el84's turn off, not the heaters...

Re: Charge Pump Power Supply

I built the weber kit for a friend and I am getting hum from the power supply. Do you think upping the 1000 uf caps to 4700 uf would help?

Re: Low Voltage Asteroid

I really like the 6sl7 as a phase inverter in these builds. I built a 2 hole liverpool with a tube rectifier about the same plate voltage as you.....one of the few amps I used a 12ax7.....time to drill a bigger hole

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Type PR 246 Squealing

I chased this same problem and replaced a few parts including op amps. It only did it when the reverb knob was past 5. I never fixed this amp but I was convinced it was the reverb tank. Owner did not want to put any more money in the amp at this point. Pull the reverb pan.....I coild stop the high p...

Re: Do you use effects with your Trainwreck (clone)?

I found running an express with the volume down.....pointing at the brite switch......that pedals work great. I built a super hard on clean boost and goose it with that to get very close to the same effect of having the volume up in that sweet range. Cleans up really nice with my guitar volume and g...
