Re: How about we post some pics and layouts?
here's two shots of my moonlight wreck hybrid. It's got an extra stage of filtering before the preamp now that isnt in this photo. It has the preamp of an Express and the phase inverter and power tubes of Shimcha Delft's Moonlight - 6SL7 and 6SN7 for a whopping 1.5 watts. Cathode biased and no negat...

Re: Dirty Little Monster ?????
Wasnt the Express/Liverpool prototype built on a Fender Princeton chassis? There are some discussions on it in the archived Ampage threads I believe.

Re: Andy Fuchs is now marketing a Trainwreck Express style amp
I wonder why he hasn't been on this page? Oh well. I dont think Andy has much interest in the homebrewing community. He's got a fairly successful business to run, and has largely been concerned with Dumble style circuits, as well as his own variations... I dont see Hogy hanging out here either, for...

Ken's amp modding pages
I finally got my copy of the '89 Angela Instruments catalog scanned and zipped. Inside this archive is a scan of the "Trainwreck Pages", which were Ken's notes on amp mods and improvements. Most of this stuff is common knowlege now, but at the time was not. This contains 29 pages in gif format. Omar...

Re: Andy Fuchs is now marketing a Trainwreck Express style amp
I wasnt aware Andy gooped his boards... I thought that was Trace at Voodoo, and even he's stopped doing that I believe.I know he has been cool with other techs doing repair work on his amps and even states he's willing to talk a tech thru a repair/troubleshooting/tweeking issue on his amps when the ...

Props to Moose (Chris)
Hey guys, a big nod of thanks to Chris on the trannies; FedEx was a tad rough with my set and dinged them up a bit - but Chris is real stand up guy and and replaced them no questions asked. In the end, I'm sure he is losing money on me... Lets make sure he makes this venture worth while, eh? Custome...

Re: Ken Fischer Marshall mods
Erigm - I dont have a scanner, but I do have the old Angela reprint. I'll see what I can come up with. If I can get them scanned, I'll turn them over to Omar so he can post them on the site.

Re: Ken Fischer Marshall mods
There is a section of the old Angela catalog where the "Trainwreck Pages" were reprinted, and it may also be in various editions of the Pittman tube amps book. Many of Ken's Marshall mods were printed there, most of them are common knowlege now, but were voodoo at the time. Better master volumes, sc...

Re: B+ filtering - why not just use properly voltage rated caps?
At the time, I'm not sure that Ken had ready access to 450v rated 80uF caps. As for the multi section JJ 40/20/20/20 can, it should work, tho you may not be as effectively decoupling between stages with the common ground that is shared with each section. Might make no difference. The wreck Paul Ruby...

Mike, shoot Paul an email and ask him - the maple wreck featured on his site is mine, and I know he's got the skinny on what you are trying to find out. He's got an email link from his site - www.paulrubyamps.com
