Re: Getting a smoother OD
Seriously, wait until its burnt in. And it takes a while unless you have a load box and can let it run continuously. I built my Ceriatone OTS way back in 2008, burn in wasn't really recognised back then and I modded mine to add a stepped hi-cut to the OD circuit. After about a year or so of very int...

Re: SSS002 build happiness
Erwin, that sounds stellar. May I ask, do you have heavy gauge strings and a fairly high action? I find that sort of sound is very revealing of even the slightest fret buzz and you had none. Matt Schofield has a similar sound clean, and runs 11's and quite a high action. Very revealing of poor techn...

Re: What fuse in 230v amp?
When my Ceriatone OTS had a new transformer (hammond, cant remember the model no) it would regularly blow the fuse on startup. That was with 2a (240v) I then upped it to 2.5A and its been fine since.

Re: Put some Russian: 6П3С-Е valves in my BLuesmaster today
I’m using them all the time since were 2 a dime. Now they run a bit more expensive. They sound excellent and are very durable. Just have to take into account that these should be biased as 5881. Niki P.S. Kudos for the Cyrillic P ;) thanks Nikki, I left the bias at 60% of 30w, having had a quick go...

Re: Ezg-50 circuit changes?
Apologies to those who asked for a copy of my pre-amp schematic, I'm not often visiting here. I've attached it now. I wish I had more free time to build amps, there are three or four I'd like to do. I missed the 10k on the grid of V3b and I no longer have the amp to check it. I also did not have a s...

Re: Larry carlton ported/sealed EVM-12-L cab made
by norburybrook P.S. where do you get your ply? From B&Q simply because they will cut the sheet free of charge, saves me getting my table saw out and enlisting help to run a heavy sheet through it. I'd prefer 15mm but they only sell 18mm. I use 15mm for the front baffle and 12mm for the rear . Baff...

Re: Larry carlton ported/sealed EVM-12-L cab made
I bought one of these when they were about £35 and learnt how to use it. Now its very easy indeed to knock a shell or cab together using it. http://www.axminster.co.uk/axcaliber-dovetail-jig-502514 Unfortunately they are now over double the price. http://www.ladybayartglass.co.uk/Private/HywelHarris...

Re: relay transformer
Really Erwin? My OTS had a huge cutout Fender twin size, so had to fit a 291FEX which was overkill for a 50 watter and the 266JB6 fitted nice and snug alongside it inside the chassis. https://www.dropbox.com/pri/get/Public/IMG_20160503_175844.jpg?_subject_uid=1508025&w=AADTeQOTwmwP3XfJ6YBis-z-DbGq05...

Re: relay transformer
When I had my Ceriatone PT go bad I had to install a Hammond 266JB6 to power the relays. Works fine.

Re: Wonderland/JM100 build
ha who was asking about jelle? here he is ;D I tried the 180k -68k voltage divider and if the amp had no reverb I'd say its great but I didn't like what it did to the fine balance of the reverb/clean sound. (Actually if it didn't have reverb yo would need this anyway!!) So at the moment I'm at 1M a...

I now recall I did make an OTS Combo, it currently has my Ceriatone DZ-30 sitting in it. Found the drawing, tarted it up with proper dimensions. Here it is . https://www.dropbox.com/s/t7bxekw7p5vv2vv/OTSCombo01.pdf?dl=0 Pics of the backplate and the combo here https://www.dropbox.com/s/jtqis51dk6qwe...

Re: Combo Cabinet - Need Help Please
I did some plans for a head shell a few years ago, published them on the Ceriatone forum http://ceriatoneforum.com/overtone/head-cabinet-plans-anyone/?action=dlattach;attach=1320 SImple enough to extend the sides to make room for the baffle. Let me know if you'd like me to adapt the plan, it wouldn'...

Re: Site maintenance and downtime tomorrow at 10pm PST
Just want to say a huge thank you to the guys sorting this out, I have missed this forum. I don't post much but when I've had problems the help has been tremendous.
So glad its back and I can confirm no more warning screen (FF 47.0.2) putting the fear of god into me for venturing in.

Might not be the same amp but its cropped up on Matt Schofields FB page

Shame he hasn't recorded a demo. If he reckons its that good then I'd say it is!

Re: Replacement Transformers
And also Martin, I have the additonal relay transformer to magnetize. Small current but its adding up. I did wonder whether to put the relay transformer on a separate switch.
Will get some 2.5A fuses and see how they hold up.
