Yup...that's the cure for the Hammond.
Forgot the CT Heyboer doesn't manifest this problem.

I would say yes.
Except the transformer secondary reading is across the two secondary leads out of the PT before rectification.

There are several options electrical, electronic, metal working (chassis), woodworking etc.
I used it in the trial version for electronic and chassis. Ah, it expired so haven't been back in it for a while. It's all there though. Should be a free trail version good for 30 days or better.

Here is what I did with Dana's help. The 1.5 ohm resistors are not needed if your filament voltage is OK. Mine was up at 7.1v with the original Hammond PT so I had to drop it with the 1.5 ohm resistors Mouser Pt#: 660-MOSX3CT631RR15J 2@$0.36 The trimmer pot is a 200ohm single turn Mouser Pt#: 594-63...
