Re: Preferred Filter Cap Brands?
Tubedepot is having a 15% off sale right now. Go with the F&Ts. I'm not sure that they sound any better (I've used both), but they look more impressive, which doesn't hurt especially if you end up selling it in the future.

Re: Solid core wire - ok for heaters?
Fender used solid core for heaters back in the day. I've had many problems with amps, but solid core on the heaters was never one of them

Great. With custom builds I usually test multiple positions for hum before committing to one direction or the other.

Re: 100W SSS Build with Amplified Nation Chassis
Sounds like a great plan! Not to be a stickler, but that's actually not an Amplified Nation chassis. That's a chassis that I designed and had fabricated a few years ago. I did sell 5 or 6 of them to Taylor at AN. Good luck with the build!

Re: Evolution of SSS
Making some progress on #004. There is a light blue square I could not identify, also the treble cap. Lastly at the end there is cap at v3a which I am not sure where it goes Looks like fairly similar to #004 and Hartman (although v1a and v1b LNFB are on simultaneously I really could not find the tr...

Re: Evolution of SSS
There is a .02 OD cap before the 1M trimmer then onto 470k and 100k resistors one either side of the large .900h inductor bolted to the top side that looks like a transformer. Ceriatone had access to a SSS and made their version based off that amp, I do not know what serial number the amp was. I'm ...

Re: Source for Fixed Bias VVR Boards
I've always just wired up the "VVR" circuits using a home made eyelet board. The circuit is very straight-forward.
